Kissed by a total stranger......

I'm up sooooo early this am, and it's the "kids" fault too....why? they decided I needed to awake an hour earlier than my set alarm time is beyond me.   I wasn't ready to move..Bentley decided to nibble on my hand, Hey! we want you awake!! He's lucky I didn't whack him...I was too shocked, that my cat had bitten me. So here I am, they are fed, litter boxed and now playing...rotten "kids"....

Well, here's a sentence (s) you don't use everyday....A customer kissed me on my cheek today.

or Ever have a customer kiss you on the cheek?

or My customers kiss me on my cheek.

Yep, a total stranger kissed me...never thought that would happen....

I was working the Customer Service desk...

note: I have since looked at our manual it does not state how to handle be kissed by a total stranger

....anyhoo...when this elderly couple (not uncommon in SWFL) came by to ask if someone had turned in an address book....I checked lost -n- found...gave him 3 books....he sized them up, decided one was his....and BAMMO kissed me...I had to turn my head at the last minute other wise it would have been dead center on me lips!!!!! ewwwwww....

Now, I understand he was grateful & all....but, hey if word gets out around here of what type of "Customer Service" I provide......well, I'll never get another day off......lol

Sunday Sayings....

A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.     Carl Reiner 1922 -

The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.   Lucille Ball 1911 - 1989

Hope you enjoy today's quotes.....they made me giggle.

Arising to another beautiful day here in SWFL, our little lake is just full of activity this am...we had a blue jay seeking love for the longest time...hopping from tree to tree, branch to branch trying to woo his love....after no action he left the hood...guess he decided to try his luck else where.

Our doves were a cooing away telling everyone how in love they are with each other....lovely couple..we had a few scratter brain tiny things...just flying like the dickens testing their wings, they looked confused not knowing which way to turn or land or fly..

our resident blue herring was strutting his stuff on the edge of the water, a turtle poked his head up to say Good Morning....yep it's pretty good waking up in SWFL today...

Four...or is it Fore...maybe For....

there was a Major advertised tournament yesterday that "Eldest", sister & myself competed in......ok, so there was no advertisement, no corporate sponsor PUBLICLY showing their faces in SWFL ...(I guess the executes are laying low for a while)....tho it was a MAJOR tourney ......

I'm talking competition held to it's highest degree.

We played a round of putt putt or  "Miniature Golf" depending on your local....

I've always called it Putt-Putt, just like I've called various Pop products Pop, not Soda, Coke, Soft drinks...how about Refrigerators or ice boxes,  I call it full since "C-boy" is away...lol

Sofas are couches, divans, or loveseats...for that matter do you eat dinner at lunch or is dinner at suppertime?   Now I'm sounding like George Carlin...lol  It's crazy.. no wonder people have a hard time with "American" English..

Anyway, back to our Putt-Putt tourney....the landscape was that of a Pirates theme, arrr... with live gators abound....arrr... The ships mask rising hundreds of feet in the air, ok maybe not that high...

Hole 1 thru 3 were uneventful, but we started to "compete", thus bringing our voices a lil louder.  Yippying & yeahin away, cheering each other on,  as the game progressed, we got a lil louder, adding the clapping of our hands together giving various HIGH fives for Holes-in one....YES, THAT WAS GREAT WONDERFUL....YEAH.....enough for the "others" on the grounds to wonder....What are those people doing?  Don't they know this is a respectful game of Miniature Golf..(said in the Thurston Howell the III voice)

We had a blast!  the loudest we got was when "eldest" got a HOLE IN ONE on a blind curve....now I ask ya....you have SCREAM hell yeah.....right?....lol....ok we didn't scream that, but we sure WHooped it up some!!!!

Clara or Esmeralda?

Remember in the movie Steel Magnolias, when the hubby was shootin'  the loud birds out of the trees?  Well, I want to do that today....STARLINGS! Dang they are a noisy group...chatter, and clattering together I dont understand how they hear each other talking when they are all talking at the same time....we have these cute little doves cooing away, some chickadees waking up...but you cant hear em'  until those dang STARLINGS! leave...whew!

I have a million and one projects, but no energy, time or effort to get anything started...the boys rooms are still in need of paint and decor...I have to put up the valance in our nook area, our bedroom needs to be decorated.

Why is it that when you move into a different home, you try to decorate with the same stuff, and it doesnt look as well as you last home?  I try to arrange the last few paintings or pics, and I dont like them....I loved them in our other homes, but I dont even want to put them up here....and I can't bear the thought of throwing them out???  I think I'll try re-framing them....hubby needs a new desk for his office...I havent even gone into "C-boy's" room since he went back to college, lord knows what I'll find in there...lol

No wonder it takes 3+ yrs to settle into a new living arrangement...ugh!  Boy I wish I could twitch like Samantha, or Tabatha, heck for that matter Endora, course with my lack of talent, I would probably be the bumbling Aunt Clara or was it Esmeralda.. they we're both goofy in that series...well I have put off the extra work long enough...ta ta!

Sunday Sayings....

Writing is learning to say nothing, more cleverly each day.                                       William Allingham 1821 - 1889

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.            Theodor Geisel  1904 - 1991

I enjoyed our day at the beach yesterday.  We were able to escape "reality".   I felt as though we were "vacationing" somewhere far, far away....that's probably why we enjoy living here some much.  The state is diverse, yet it isn't...new areas to investigate.

I need to check into the horse country around here too...Ocala is a few hours north of us, and there are rumors of some horse breeders around....I love horse racing...We watched a program on Fri night on Animal Planet called Jockeys....very thrilling....tough sport for those people...Weight issues for one....they had a couple of girl riders in the mix...interesting I thought....I'm sure the ladies really had to prove themselves worthy in order to "ride" with the fellas.  Watching the videos and hearing the hooves pounding in the dirt...such power...amazing a 120 pound person is controlling a 1200 pound beast, at 40 miles per hour...with someone bumping into at the same time....yep, them jockeys are tough people...

Valentines Day....no painting for me!

Valentines weekend.....

So I am a lil busy this am...added new "tunes"....in the spirit of

Valentines...

I have the next 2 days off...thrilled about that, our weekend is packed full. We have planned a very exciting, exhilarating, loved filled 2 days...romance?

25+ years of marriage you have to keep it "fresh"...and we live here in SWFL, home of the worlds most romantic beaches!!

"Hubby" and I are going to.....ready for this...you'll be so jealous....we are going...oh my goodness, I can't wait...ok, I'll tell ya.....we are going to...

PAINT OUR BEDROOM! lol

How flippin fantastic is that?

I tell ya, it's "fresh", "new", exhilarating! jealous arent ya...Oh I knew you would be....

Here's hoping you get a box of chocolates from the one you love....

Kids in the candy store.....again.

Let me tell you a story...

Once upon a time there was an nice owner of a candy store, but the kids didn't like him very well, because he made them mind their manners. They had to pay for the candy they wanted. This made some of the parents very happy, other parents just ignored him, they thought he was too old fashioned.

One day the candy store owner retired, his replacement is a young new teenage, full of ideas. He wants the kids to like him, so he decided to "Open" the doors to his store for 1 day to let the kids have whatever they wanted for "free"....The kids are ecstatic the old grumpy owner never let us do that.. they said...The parents, well, some are excited as their children, some are very concern.

You see the new owner of the store, said to all the parents before he started his job, that his new ideas, would help change their kids, I think the new manager has a lot to learn.

Oh, I almost forgot....Here's a picture of the candy store....Few parents have seen it, but believe me your kids are there everyday....unless it's RECESS.

***WARNING***not in the bestest of moods ***WARNING****

snagged from photobucket....

....

another bbbeautiful day from sunny SWFL, happily we are returning to the norm...weather wise...lol

the Prez...came a made a visit to our neck of the woods today.... I awoke not in the bestest of moods...knowing we were going to have a visitor, meant traffic could be a problem.

Plus it's a day off, and I want to "enjoy" some of it. I hate doing 5 million things on a day off, lately I just want to "veg"...do nothing, it seems the more I do that, the more "stuff" doesn't get done...Why is that you suppose???

So I downed a half a cup of Joe...it wasn't blueberry coffee either...grrr

"hubby" made plain old regular kind, aint that a shame...me being mad at someone making coffee for me....dang them hormonies or lack there of....

then I start to style my doo...it decided NOT to cooperate, sooooo

I got a hair cut today...dang near chopped the whole doo off....Have you ever done that?

You get sooo frustrated with styling, gellin', spraying or whatever other products we can put into it, and still will not cooperate????? Yep, I had me one of those days, .. since, I was getting upset, running around, cuz I wanted to enjoy some "free" day off time.. I said to myself. Self...you might as well get your hair chopped off dang near completely, cuz you're getting pretty flustered lately styling it...

I went to a different hair stylist too..my gal I have been seeing wasnt at the shop today...so she might be mad at me...oh well, can't please everyone! I came home, and immediately went outside to soak up some rays....It helps heal my soul...calms my nerves...

cuz tonight I have to catch up on the 5 million things I have been putting off to 'VEG'.....grrrrrr

1st I have to arrange, 08 paperwork, sort for taxes, then put 09 in files..plus, I have additional paperwork with 'collegeboy' stuff

double yuck!...and I have to get to bed early cuz I open tomorrow...triple yuck...and I have to cook dinner.. ...and I have to clean, laundry, change cat litter...etc....etc.... blah, blah, blah

Omgoodness, am I having a major pity party or what????? Guess its the hormonies...or lack there of..

or is it having no blueberry coffee? hum....

Sunday Sayings...

A loving heart is the truest wisdom.         Charles Dickens 1812 - 1870

A good laugh is sunshine in the house.   William Makepeace Thackeray 1811 - 1863

Love will draw an elephant through a key-hole.  Samuel Richardson 1689 - 1761

Ok, I guess be I was thinking of Valentines when I came up with today's quotes...well, it is the season...

Love is in the air....if not it should be...lol  I would rather find love in the air, than those nasty cold germs...phooey!

So many folks at work, are coughing, sneezing and sniffling.  Thankfully nothing has landed on me... I hope not mentioning my good luck has brought me undue fate....to that I say well, back off you unwanted stinky germs I don't want or need ya! I hope that work ;)

I still need to sit down with the piles of paperwork...aka taxes. I need to do a lot of stuff around the house, it's beginning to become such a chore...on my days off I want it off completely...no groceries, laundry, cleaning, bill paying...nada...lovely fantasy...I tried recently to do this, and now it's double time to keep up...course hubby could help, but he wanted to enjoy his day with a round of golf...jeez the nerve of him actually taking a day for himself??? lol

I have vowed to hubby tomorrow is the day!   We will tackle 2008! If I'm not toooo tired after work...lol

Enjoy your day all!

Blueberry Coffee...that can't be right....

I have found the best Blueberry Coffee  (holla) yes, I said Blueberry....it's heaven...

I first discovered it a month ago....I had to work early, so I stopped by the local 7-11 for my fill of morning Joe.....I went to the coffee/tea station, grabbed the nearest carafe, pour & go....as I'm traveling down the road, I take my 1st sip...er? What's this....there is something in....sip.  I looked to make sure I grabbed my mug off the counter...(scary I know)....sip..er? what is this...Did someone put a blueberry in my thermos? I sip again, er? Wait, sip, yep that's blueberry...um that tastes good....

I have be hooked since...I usually make my morning brew, but that day I choose to "spoil" myself.  I was going to stop @ Starbucks but had a change of mind (my prerogative...why am I thinking Bobby Brown) anywhoo ....would be faster @ 7-11.

It began a mind game, should I make coffee, the Blueberry is calling my name....then I finally had a thought...er?  Wait a second......I'm getting an idea here....wait for it, wait for it.....I CAN BUY BLUEBERRY COFFEE MYSELF...but where? hum.....

Yesterday I found where!  My local grocery store has it.....so if you have a hankerin' for some different brew.....and you like blueberry like a lot of us do, may I suggest Green Mountain Coffee Wild Blueberry is for you! (holla)

warning: tasting this you lose all common since, give free advertisement on your blog......

hugs!

One for the other thumb.....

What a game eh? I was crying, pacing, borrowed Mrs Potato Head's ANGRY EYES  a little bit....I would tell hubby, nope I'm not celebrating until the time has run out...whew.....my "boys" did a fine job.  The Cards played well...heck why wouldn't they, they are in the NFL...I think last nights game was one of the finest...from beginning to the end...Our Nation Anthem sung beautifully, the commercials...so so they have had better...half time...the "Boss" and E Street rocked the house....and the game....one for the history books....I'm ordering a shirt I'll take that in XLIII please!

Yesterday I had to work in the morning, so I forgot to wear my STEELER jersey. I know, I know shameful...I'll wear my T-shirt today...that will have to do... My co-workers started in with cheering for the Cardinals early....I was working the Customer Service desk, I made a threat that I would start answering the phone with GO STEELERS, How may I direct your call?  Of course, I would use my Disney voice...it would be pleasant....lol

I started to ring up customers,  as I was chatting away asking my them who they were rootin' for .. if they even dared to mention the other team I would stop what I was doing and ask...I'm not sure I heard you correctly...You want the STEELERS  to win...right? They would usually catch on and agree with me, some I would tell them point blank, your not getting your products until you say STEELERS so just make it easy for yourselves.

One gentleman was silent watching me carry on about my "boys", he moves from another lane, and waits in my line, other cashiers offer to assist him, he just nods no he is fine where he's at....when he gets up to my counter I ask my question....he puts in front of me bird seed to ring up...I notice a Cardinal on the package, I look up at him and his reply, QUESTIONS? I about sprung a leak laughing so hard....touché mon ami.
