VOLLA - TA-DA!

Where to begin????  I guess at the beginning, cuz if I started at the end, then you wouldn't understand the story, you would only read....TA DA!!

Long, long ago in a far far place...oops that's Shrek.....lol...remember my mentioning how drivers, were driving me nuts, and nuts driving ....blah blah...Ok, then will start before that....

As the family was gathering together playing their games on Christmas eve, someone had mentioned that the "CO" family were getting together, and we needed to do our 'WEBCAM'  sing-a-long of the 12 days of Christmas .....well, this blew a gasket for me cuz....

Last year we sang together Christmas day, so I bought "C-boy" & I webcams for presents this year thinking AHA!  I'll be ready!!! see our old computer has the webcam, but we dont use it much, and we use mine...blah, blah,  in the end I didnt think things out  very well...

....I was going to "surprise" him, something not on his list...anyhoo! guess the "surprise" was on me...  I go get his & mine present out of the "Santa" closet and say "here, merry Christmas...early"( in a not too friend voice I'm afraid)

So I instruct the nephew to "load" that bad boy onto my puter', we'll be ready for the 12 days....Guess what...that's right it didn't load...anybody knows webcams are about the easiest piece of hardware to load...so...we try a couple of times, cuz I'm ruthless for punishing myself...(it didn't load)...we load "C-boy" no problem,  and the 12 days go with a hitch....yippy!!

Christmas comes & goes, while I Windows update, check, re-check, clean boot, reload, update, check, recheck, clean boot..you get the point...(this is where drivers, driving me nuts, nuts driving..part comes in..)  Hubby all the while is patiently waiting for me to admit defeat, before he suggests that I land-line,(telephone for you none techies)...lol  or email someone for problem solving...(smart guy ;)..after 25 1/2 years of marriage, that boy has learnt a thingy or two eh?)..

I finally email... Logitech (very helpful, I might add.. they can pay me later for the holla).."techie-dude" walks me thru, yet again, load, reload, check, re-check, clean-boot ...blah, blah....Their "techie-dude" admits defeat....and he suggest I land-line (we know what that is) Microsoft...dooomsville...if I have to call  "big" daddy you all know I've got some serious puter' problems.......

WHEW! take a rest....(hum, hum)

ready?....ok....

Now I call the Bid-daddy, they are very helpful for $59,99...lol yes, I had to pay...this really burst my inner "techie" ego....they give me to a Techie-guru...named.....SULTAN!!!!! (not making that up) bery, bery nice he is...(my best India impression)...lol..

SULTAN IS THE DUDE!!! HOLLA!  He grabs hold of my 'puter, while I sat back and watched, him..."load, re-load, check, re-check, clean boot, re-boot....pause....then he did something I have never seen....he opened up the motherboard

AWWWW (angels singing)

Then he says I have a corrupt file, he must clean!....have at it Sultan guru-dude...clean your heart out..

Sultan...cleaned, vaccuumed, bleached, and dusted the little corrupted "politician" file...VOLLA! we have Vebcam.....thanks Sultan-techie guru...you the best....

TA-DA!

I told ya you would see TA-DA at the end...me!

me

due to technical difficulties...

more later........lol

Sunday Sayings....

The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.
Lily Tomlin 1939 -

Your faithfulness makes you trustworthy to God.
Edwin Louis Cole 1922 - 2002

As we approach our coming new year, we use this week usually to reflect on where the passing year lead us in our lives...

2008 was good to me, as a matter of fact in my life there are only 2 years I want as "do overs"....but since I can not change the past, I must learn from them...and I learned I do not like emotional deep wrenching heart ache & pain.....so if I could live in this so called fantasy Disney world that is in my head, everyone would live forever, no cancer, no accidents, no terrorists, no crime, no, no, no, no.....

I know my life exists for me in heaven. I will gladly wait my time to get there, but what to do until then????

Faith, faith, faith......

I have a tendency to not give a lot to God...somehow, I have put in my itty-bitty mind his has sooooooo much why should I give him more to deal with, let me figure it out on my own....I try, try, try usually miserable along clawing my way uphill, until I have a light bulb moment...

Ah-ha! brilliant I will ask God to help me!!! and when I do my problem dissolves instantly...again, again, and again....so why do I go clawing, climbing my way thru a problem on my own time after time???

I love what I read on Betty's journal.

don't put Jesus away after Christmas day; unwrap him each and every new day

I plan on trying just that!!!!!!

ps...GOOOOOOOO STEEELERS!...lol

WHATS HAPPENING?????

What day is it????  I have loss all track of time...Christmas was sooooo wonderful, I have been in never never land since.....lol

Sorry I've missed responding to everyone's blogs...Hope my on line buddies truly had a splendid time with family & friends.....

Santa treated our family well, now if he could get this blasted webcam to work all would be the best....lol

I have drivers, driving me nuts...nuts driving me crazy, and kids making me insane...pretty normal eh?...lol

nothing here to report...just the same old happenings....just needed to change my cutest page & music...

..now to check in on the happenings of the blog world.....

The day before....REALLY???

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY ONLINE FRIENDS AND FAMILY....SENDING WARM WISHES, AND HOLIDAY CHEER. HOPE SANTA BRINGS ALL WHAT YOU HAVE ASKED FOR, & MORE!!!

The day before, the day before....

Ok, I'm certainly trying.....to get everything ready for our Christmas eve dinner...Why is it you always have last minute items, that you never planned on????  I have a short work shift today, so I can go to the grocery store once again to get all the items I need..(fingers crossed)  I have more candies to make today, and another video tape to burn to disc...all before I go to work...jeez-a-loo...

It got a little chilly here yesterday evening...all that cold weather up North, just came blowing in...thankfully no white stuff with it.lol..and when I say chilly...53 is practically freezing here...we should warm up to 76 today, which is much better....lol.....I hope everyone is staying warm thru this series of storms, that are passing thru....I love viewing winter from afar now...too blasted cold for my achy bones.  I hate driving in that stuff too...

The customers are warming up around the holidays, oddly enough..I've only had a few to handle rather than dozens...after the holidays tho...the gates will open up I'm sure...lol

I still have presents to wrap, so I guess I had better get off this blasted thing and try to get my additional work done...

Ho Ho Ho....oh my!

I think, I am almost ready for Christmas to arrive...I know I will forget something...I have 3 lists I am currently writing for our Christmas eve dinner, and extras for the big day...I do not care to be in the kitchen on the big day, but I think I'll prepare something for snacking all day long...I love munching...best thing in the world...little tidbits of goodies to nimble on while watching the kiddies play with their new toys....fun fun!

"C-boy" made it home this morning. 5AM..."Hubby" sprang out of bed, when he heard the low rumblings of his Jeep in the drive way..."C-boy" has got some sort of thing-a-ma-jig that makes it sound like a freight train...it annoys the heck out of us, that and the fact he has his bass .. thump, thump, thumping away....welcome back "c-boy"...lol

NOTE: NEED TO RUN TO DRUG STORE FOR MORE HAIR DYE..lol

I was at my nail appointment today, "c-boy" & "eldest" came in with a dozen yellow roses...

recent 007

how sweet was that???...all the ladies ooohed...& aweeeed.. yes, it was wonderful, but I also knew, they are buttering me up & want something...I have no idea what, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough...

I captured more wildlife pics.....

this guy just came out of the lake, I guess he wanted to warm up a bit, not happy we're blocking his path....

This next pic..is a hawk I saw the other morning...

It was very foggy outside, really neat watching this guy look for his breakfast...

"C-boy" removed all 4 of those dead trees for me today....he's up to something...Roses, volunteering for physical labor????....

NOTE: WHILE AT DRUG STORE FIND SOMETHING TO CALM NERVES....

As, I started dinner tonight, "C-boy" began to assemble the Adirondack chairs I had purchased for "hubby" for Christmas...then took "eldest" outside to fish.....hummm???

roses, labor, helping brother????

After we were finished eating..."C-boy" says ...Thanks ma, and gives me a kiss....

Roses, labor, brother, adirondack, kiss????

NOTE: AFTER DRUG STORE, GO TO LIQUOR STORE, WILL NEED TO RESTOCK......EVERYTHING.....

Maybe he doesn't realize, but we have already purchased all the gifts for our Christmas this year.....hummmmm?

Think outside the box

It amazes me what comes out of peoples mouths....If you would "think" before what you say...

Last night work was crazy...I should have known nutty things would happen...(Full Moon)...let's set the stage.

First we have multiple personalities in one facility, working side by side, day after day, week after week, this alone adds unnecessary quarrels from time to time, but then lets add to the mix "Joe" (Public), events are bound to happen.

I walk in ready to begin my shift, and the 1st response I get...(not hello, how am I doing..) Where have you been? Can you come in early tomorrow? It has been awful day today...nag, nag, nag...

Now, I'm thinking I haven't really "clocked" in yet, maybe I should turn around.

When there was a window of opportunity for me to "answer" the questions asked, my response...Fine, and how are you?  Yes, I almost have everything ready for Christmas, and I'm about 10 minutes ahead of beginning my shift.....this brings a puzzled look upon my fellow associates face. Duh?What?!...then it dons on her...ok, I get it...

So, this was the "beginning" of my shift...things would not get better...I only have to ask myself..Why did I clock in?...oh..yeah "Collegeboy" wants to have a life...

About 1 hour into this "dream" job, lol....2 associates are joking around with a 3rd associate, but the 3 associate did not "see" the amusement..she left crying in the back...later to decide she didn't feel like "playing" with these 2 tonight, she was feeling poorly & just did not have the strength or mind-set to "play".  I can't say I blame her...these 2 I'll call them Dip & Dot, buddy buddy, they bully others with their words.  I have had a couple of run ins with them, and found you must stand your ground, cuz  eventually they back off, their  "bark" is worse than their bite..but they tend to take it too far most times, and never get into trouble...one of those..What cha' going to do...they really are not breaking any policy rules...they have been told to mind their manners tho...

So, now we're a person short for this evenings shift...great....I'm at the Return Goods desk...which we all know how "Joe" can be when they want to "return" something...fun fun!

Now, I had only a couple questionable returns for the night, but they worked them selves out without any problems...but fate would not allow this good fortune to last...I had this ...(I'll call her Ms Snotty Snot) come in...She parks her car lights flashing right at the front door...only because she does not want to use a parking lot like "normal" people...she needed to return a knob...yes folks...Ms Snotty Snot wants to return a kitchen cabinet knob..no biggie happens all the time...everyday 5 - 10 times a day...well, Ms Snotty Snot's knob, came from another company...not my company, I inform her of this..and you know what?...yes, you guessed correctly...she argued...not politely either...Ms Snotty Snot, told me I was wrong...for me to get a department manager to "return" her knob...ok fine, Ms Snotty Snot...

A fellow associate hears Ms Snotty Snot, not being polite with me, and she comes over to help with Ms Snotty Snot.  This associates tries explaining to her, on how it is not our product...same stuff I was explaining earlier..I tell my fellow associate that I have tried numerous time to explain, and Ms Snotty Snot, tells me........I quote.......

"YOU ARE NOT THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX".....

I'm puzzled by this ignorant statement...and reply...Mme I have policies in place, and I can NOT accept another companies PRODUCT.

her reply....and I quote again....

"EXACTLY, YOU NEED TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX"...

What? you want me to give you, oh I don't know lets take a guess...X amount of money on a product I don't carry...

Ms Snotty Snot, reply..Well you don't have to be rude about it......

after about another 40 minutes of arguing ...Ms Snotty Snot realizes that she might......."might" have purchased the knob somewhere else.....

YOU THINK???

Have a happy holiday...Ms Snotty Snot!

Sunday "Christmas" Sayings

I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.
Charles Dickens 1812 - 1870

The earth has grown old with its burden of care But at Christmas it always is young, The heart of the jewel burns lustrous and fair And its soul full of music breaks the air, When the song of angels is sung.
Phillips Brooks 1835 - 1893

Unless we make Christmas an occasion to share our blessings, all the snow in Alaska won't make it "white".
Bing Crosby 1903 - 1977

Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.
Washington Irving 1783 - 1859

T'was the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
Clement Clarke Moore 1779 - 1863

2008 Christmas baking.....done?

We got our baking done...for now, "collegeboy" hasn't arrived home yet, I'm sure I'll have to replenish once he arrives...he should be here Thurs...yippy!

Here are some pics of the 2008 Christmas baking party......

recent 009

We really enjoyed ourselves..here's "eldest" & niece decorating...ho ho ho!

recent 004

Niece giving me her "Vanna" smile..

recent 008

"sis" & niece working hard....

recent 002

I bought this vinyl lettering from Jo Ann's today...cute eh?  Hubby put it above the pantry .....

recent 010

while I sat eating our baked goods from yesterday... I think I need to do more of the vinyl lettering around the house..It would be cuter if it had holly on either side of it to bring the wall together...might just go back for more...fun fun.....

We are supposed to be "finished" with our Christmas shopping,...but Hubby always goes out 2 or 3 more times by Christmas eve...I can't stand it...I like to have it done & over with, then move on...he use to have 2 "shopping" buddies in Colorado.  They got their shopping done, but I'm sure they enjoyed their "spirits" before hand...lol

"Eldest" was excited today, he met Santa at Petco.  Santa made a positive comment on his Florida Gators hat.  This made "eldest" very happy to know that Santa is cheering for the "Gators"  to beat Oklahoma...he told us afterwards, he doesn't "need" anything for Christmas, Santa just made it the best for him....awe, ain't he precious..course after about a minute he suggested what he "wanted" for Christmas...too funny.

Happy Holidays all....

Mr Sun & guests....

Glad I had my appointment to see Mr Sun yesterday.  Today he was occupied, he had a rather large gathering of guests.  Seems as though he invited Mr Clouds family, they brought the "black" sheep... Mr & Mrs Rain, who invited Mr & Mrs Wind....must have had a great time, cuz they were sure partying up a storm....lol

Here's a pic of the new digs... all lit up for

the holidays...not a very good pic...but what cha' going to do?

random 002

We decide not to put the Icicle lights on this year...just not enough time, the wreaths are very pretty, the big bushy thing blocking the site of our front door is actually a hibiscus tree...I' take daylight pics another time.....

This next pic is "Florida chickens" or otherwise known as.. Ibis

random 001

they enjoy peckin' at the critters in the grass...they wouldn't  let me get too close...I'll try better next time..

I did manage to get out late this afternoon, had to buy my baking supplies for tomorrow.  I have "sis" coming over to chit-chat & exchange...really looking forward to this..."eldest" wants me to make gingerbread men..although we'll be making snowmen I don't have any cookie cutters, and sis only has a snowman to bring....I bought "pre-made" dough...we'll see how lucky we get...I have never done this....I doubt I'll be as lucky as my pies on Thanksgiving.  I'll post pics just to let you see...lol

Ta-ta for now...

December??

bikini

Yes...I can hardly believe the temperature today...80+ ...I'm going to the pool today. Our development has a community salt water, Olympic size pool...I think I'll catch some rays before I head into work this afternoon..I might even have to turn the a/c on...crazy!

We've have practically run out of Christmas stuff at work. Yippy... They marked it down 50% over a week ago, this past weekend was nuts....I had one customer ask if we would order more??? My reply no, we've had this inventory since early October..his reply..that's just wrong, they should get more in....I did not feel in the mood to argue economics, business, finance with the gentleman, my reply. Retail, that's the business...what cha' going to do!? He seemed to have understood his error at this point, he did not argue any further...The hardest adjustment I have had to make in this business is....To act as if their question or comment is the 1st I have heard, instead the millionth time asked or stated within the past hour...I realize it' just small talk, which I able to handle, but when I must reply about everyone's "signature" on the credit card machine...jeez-a-loo....I love the elderly...which in case if you haven't heard there are a lot in Florida...lol

Anyway, more often than not, they are friendlier, live on a very, very tight fixed budget, so (in my opinion) are allowed to quibble a bit about prices...most know what they are doing...some are just out for the daily social...others are downright scary...why they're driving, when they can barely see where to sign their bill, ...I've got one guy that comes to me often, b/c he says I smile at him every time.... too sweet. It's funny how some "flirt" with their spouses at their side...men..they never quit....

I'm just rambling away...gots to go...time to catch Mr Sun before work....

Condemned housing, not safe....

Yesterday Hubby was cleaning the driveway with the pressure washer it seems as thought it wasn't acting right.  He complained there was not enough  "power" or  rather...not enough "pressure" coming from the noise maker...I couldn't tell the difference, but "hubby" sure knew something was amuck...so he disassembles the hoses, rattles things around a bit, tilts the washer on its side, he notices something in the connection where you attach the hose to the washer...in this little hole, he peers inside, pulls out what was "clogging" the pressure, not to "pressure"(makes sense eh?) anyway....what he found was a baby lizard...(he didn't survive, poor thang)...seems as though this little guy had found a nice new home to "hide" in, and blamo! the next thing he knows his home is flooding, and something is trying to squeeze him out a pin hole....a condemned sign is post on the pressure washer, not sure if the lizards will adhere to it or not.....lol

Bentley is becoming ornery...he use to be such a sweetie, no trouble at all, but he has out grown his childlikeness, and has enter 'preteen' years.  He is "attempting" to climb the Christmas tree....he is such a klutz though ( I think he's part dog since he can fetch), he has the right idea of climbing, he just doesn't seem to be able to accomplish this task.  He stretches his body, then he becomes clueless on where to put what leg, thus causing confusion, miss steps, rattle the tree...then he runs off, cuz we've said something to him...Sylvester just calmly sits watching this with the look of "amateur" on his face....

Time to get dinner ready...the shopping with "hubby"....

Sunday Sayings....

Consider the rights of others before your own feelings, and the feelings of others before your own rights.

Coach John Wooden 1910 -

                         &

If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven't done anything today.

Coach Lou Holtz 1937 -

First I would like to give a shout (holla)  to the Broad Run Spartans football team for their success last night winning the State 4A championship.

...forever you'll be known as Virginia 4A State Champions!!!!!

highlights...Spartan win....

My longest, dearest, and bestest bud...aka Gaba & her hubby BR shared this information with me, so I must boast about their sons & team success.

I chose today's quotes for a couple of reasons...1st I was going to elaborate on the feelings of winning or success, but it seemed to easy, so I pondered a bit...

2nd...who better than a coach (of any vocation) to quote on winning, but I found that they also quote on life, and that is what I like to use on Sunday Sayings...

How many days remaining?

We bought a few extra items for Christmas this year....no nothing fun like another Wii...or cute like clothes, new digital camera, Ipods, or even decorative items for the home....nope, pretty boring yet necessary.....

Yes, the "c-boy" calls we had to replace.....a radiator...fun, fun, joy, joy...ho ho ho

The only positive thing I can think of is, at least it happened at college, rather than on the road trip home in 10 days....grrrrrrr....I'm boiling over thinking about it....LOL! and...

I had to get new tires on my truck...and a new battery...these are necessities, yes, but non the less no fun...

The tire guy says he filled my "new" treads with "Nitro-air" rather than regular air...Men! Now they can say (in the Tim Allen manly voice) I've got "Nitro-fill" in my tires...(growl, growl)...A lot of "hot" air if you ask me!

What do I care...I mean if "they" have spent the time analyzing the effects of "Nitro" in tires, why can't "they" find a cure for cancer? This is suppose to save gas....hog wash...You know the only way I'm going to save on gas is to ride a bike!

Now, the funny thing is the "tire guy" says, It was a "courtesy" to fill the tires with "nitro"...he didn't charge me extra... I was suppose to react like Snow White.... How wonderful Mr Tire man...but alas my reply, you charged for air????? Guys pay money for air? Mr Tire guy just gave me the usual guy look when they can not comprehend...lol

So I come home, tell "hubby" about getting "nitro" in the tires, and his reaction.......COOL!...I have to go to the Mr Tire man and see if they'll put "nitro" in my tires!!!! MEN!...and you know what....yep! you guessed it....he's going to "pay" for the "nitro"...jeez-a-loo I can't win!

My History
