HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Today is G'pa (aka my dads) Birthday.... He's 73!

As a kid it was real fun celebrating 2 things on the same day...we would get to Trick or Treat...and have birthday cake....I remember giving him all my black licorice after trick or treating...He just loves the stuff, I was happy to give it away.  If he wanted my snickers bar I doubt I would have been so generous....LOL

Growing up in Colorado, we had to plan our costumes around the "fall" (really winter) season.  It is always, always either snow or freezing temps on Halloween...It still continues. Then the next week it's usually beautiful weather.... Our children remember it.....Now that we are living in SWFL, we found out we could sit in our lawn chairs on the driveway watch all the little ghouls & goblins trick or treat.. Looking forward again tonight.

Tonight's agenda starts with a neighborhood BBQ..(wonderful) then we'll rush home for all the little treaters!!  How smart of these parents to find out whose in the hood' handing out candy!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN ALL

and....HAPPY B-DAY DAD!!!

How many left?

Blast I'm tired....whew....

This moving business is for the birds!

I think I'm ready to go back to work, might be a bit easier...lol

I think the "eldest" and I are going to take in a movie tomorrow...get away from all this moving stuff...

to tired to write..

have a great evening all

Misty Lake?

This mornings sunrise..a chilly 45 degrees...bbrrrr..

we had a some mists coming off the water....

with my trusty fake fireplace (heater) plugged in, afghan on my lap, a warm cup of joe in hand...I'm ready to take on the world..lol

It's good trying to get into a routine again...as I get older moves are harder and harder...gone are the days, that all I had was a bed, dresser, tv, and bean bag chair...back then the heaviest thing I had to carry was my makeup bag....I planned our moves around happy hour and work...now I made a plan, forgot, replanned, forgot again...wrote it down, replanned....you get what I mean....hubby and I said this morning what an overwhelming experience we are in at the moment. Life must continue on, and we have added this chore!  Whew doggies....

Speaking of life, a while back I wrote that "collegeboy" "might" have to have surgery...well, the "might" is over, Nov 13th he's scheduled to go under the knife, with a surgeon I don't know..a hospital I have no clue about...ucky ...

When we were at the Colleges orientation, some parents spoke about the "new" experiences we were going to have to handle...one remembered that "yes, your child will get sick while in college, prepare yourself for that"

I felt a pit in my stomach at that moment, cuz it never donned on me...so, when we were packing up his stuff. I included all the Vicks, Tylenol, Nightquil, Dayquil, and any other "sick" medicine I could think of, but to prepare for "surgery", nope I never thought of that one.  Silly I know, you would think that with all our years in football, and having to experience a surgery before due to the game (he torn his ACL in his jr year) that I would have gone there, but alas just having a cold was tough to handle....

The staff & hubby are saying if I would like to go, it's ok...they wont tell me no, but its a routine procedure, the surgeon understands my concerns, and "collegeboy" is an adult so the paperwork is all handle...letting go sucks!  pukey!

Since the surgery is the 13th, he has a buddy that has offered to take him to and from the hospital...(reminder must get care package for that young man)  This is also the same guy who lives in our fine state and they plan on traveling together @ Thanksgiving, so we'll see him shortly after the surgery takes place..

I hope I haven't scared any parents that are going to have children away at college next year, but these "little" life lessons might be useful.

Ok kids...I have taken up enough time this morning...Direct TV has arrived...yippy!  So I must go there are boxes callin' out to me!

Later.... chick-a-dees!

I'm back...finally!

It has been busy...to say the least!

There isn't enough Calgon my friends....the weather however, has been absolutely beeeeautiful!  So that makes up for all the aches, pains and migraines of moving.  We are currently experiencing a cold spell...today's high was 71...brrr chilly....lol tonight's low should be around 40...now that's just downright awful!...LOL...I had to break out the thermals & hoodies!...my thermostat only knows a/c..not heat!!!! lol..  Actually, it is very pleasant, it's wonderful to have the patio open with a slight breeze thru the house...  I am wearing socks, long sleeves and sweats tho.....lol

Here's a view from out our lanai...as you can tell we have a lovly lake to look at every day....our piece of heaven....

013

014

Hubby, thought it would be even better to be closer to the Preserve area in the background there....I totally do not support his theory... critters  live in them there woods, and as long as they stay on their side of the line (the imaginary one in my head) I'll be happy...LOL!

The lake is not for boating, just relaxing and fishing...our niece did ask about kayaking...I told her if she would like to visit the critters...she's braver than I...crazier too!  I hope she doesn't try this adventure!  Our neighborhood sent out  a flyer to attend a BBQ and food bank raiser on Halloween, then to rush back home to give the kiddies their treats.  Hubby & I are planning to attend...what a wonderful welcome to our new environment.  The weekend after that is a block  garage sale....yippy...love this idea...I have plenty to get rid of after this move.

We (rather) hubby did paint two rooms so far, we went to Lowes (my work) and purchased ceiling fans, more paint too.

I have unpacked the majority of the kitchen, 3/4 of our closets, our china hutch, knick-knacky stuff and very little else...I have a life time (unless things change...lol) to do the remaining....I have to get ready to put some grub on the table....so I'll sign off for now....

I'll be catching up on my followings tonight...boy I missed reading all your stories!

later gatorettes!

Moving...all most there!

Ok, just changing the tempo a little ...see if I like this font...

Well, we are slowly moving boxes over to the new pad...lovin it...lovin it!!!!  I'll probably take pics tomorrow. It was rather gloomy out so, none today...

The movers come on Saturday morn.  The phone company flips switches tomorrow, hopefully I'll have Internet at the new digs...can't go without it....LOL...I'll move the puter & offices tomorrow...come Sunday I'll be back to clean this home...and finally call it good!

My poor body, has had enough!  I've been hitting the reliable Tylenol bottle a bit much this week...got to keep that RA at bay...you know...I will be Calgoning soon....lol

I took 2 weeks off from work to do this major chore...so come next Thurs or Fri I want to be well rested before Saturday....

The "kids" sure know something is going amuk...things missing from there normal places, me coming & going...Sylvester has been thru this once before...and he is not happy my friends...I keep reminding him we are not going across the country, but alas he doesn't trust me!  I haven't decided what to do with ornery tykes yet.....Sylvester can open the doors over at this house, so if we place them in a closet, or bathroom (just to keep them safe) I'm afraid he'll open it and bammo they'll all disappear... The new house he won't be able to open the doors, but with all the commotion.  I don't think they'll be too happy in a closet or bathroom over there...what to do, what to do?  Probably over here best, I can block the door with something I'm sure...grrrr...lol

We wont be getting cable until next Weds, this is upsetting "eldest" he's a sports freak!  Maybe I'll drop him off at a local bar...heck, I'll go to the bar...let "hubby" deal with the whole mess alone....LOL!!!!!

Awwww, the joys of moving!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed, that Internet will be up at the new digs tomorrow...until then my peeps...have a nice, warm, calming, soothing, relaxing, bestest ever, kind of day!

Later cats!

(from Joyce!) nice eh?

Home Owners......again!

We are home owners again....awwww the sweet taste of debt....LOL

We had a little drama yesterday tho...you know we couldnt go to the table without it...right????

It first started with our bank....evidently I'm not a valid signer on our own account...why?  who knows, you cant very well have my name on the checks without me having "signed" the signature card???... but,  when I went there to wire transfer the funds to the Title company, while checking verification, they found I was not listed...I told "hubby" that all transactions for the past year should be suspended since I signed for all those bills...see I'm the one that does the accounting in our family..."Banklady" was not amused...sorry!  (not really)  We got that all fixed...delayed our arrival time to closing, so we thought hey...this is the trouble we were expecting..no biggie...soon enough we will be home owners...

WELL, WRONG...WRONG...WRONG...

To think I could possible have a "little" drama...how silly of me.

We arrive at the title company, proceed to the conference room...there is a mound of paperwork...as we start to sign, the "escrowgirl" says the "seller" hasnt signed yet, but we shall proceed anyway....wait...Isnt the "seller" to sign 1st I ponder???..I'm assured it's alright...we proceed...

When the "seller" finally arrived, she enters into our conference room...WAIT??  I'm confused again, cuz I have never been with "seller/buyer" before...she sits down and announces...she is not signing....WHAT, WHAT....DID SHE JUST SAY....WHAT?

(I know folks...I told you this was a saga!!)

She goes on to belittle our agent, says she isnt satisfied with the deal...she wants more money....they start to bicker back and forth... fur is flying...while "Escrowgirl", "Hubby", and I are WHAT??? WHAT???

I go to prayer mode ASAP...LORD, I clearly understand, I have been fighting your will way too long, you do not want us to purchase a home...

WHAT??? WHAT??

I emerge through the fogged mind, and say....WAIT A SEC??? I'M NOT GETTING A HOME TODAY?????????

This hushes the room...now "seller" is in fog bank...she shakes her head and realizes..(actually God told her) hey, you've got to buyers sitting in front of you, and you have had your home on the market a while...so...she changes her minds and says...she's signing......

"Escrowgirl" starts shoving papers her way, before she changes her mind again..."Hubby" is smart stays silent cuz he's in a room full of crazy women, our "agent" is appalled of the treatment she received in front of us and I'm just silently praising the Lord and giggling the last 8 months have been mind blowing...never ever has this been a bigger mess of bull...I will always be grateful for being able to purchase a home.......  it is just a building, but..we will fill it with love, health, and happiness, and God is with us always!!!

Now, after the "move" we'll take pics...share...and start "fresh" memories.....

New pic wanted to share

Godssmile

GOD SMILING!

Closing today!!....maybe?

We certainly had a long day yesterday....traveling sure wears you out....Hubby had it the hardest...1st he traveled 7 hrs to pick up collegeboy...3 1/2 there and back...then on Fri he traveled to his corporate office on the east coast in Riviera Beach, FL another 5 hrs round trip, yesterday 7 hrs to return collegeboy....what a great guy eh????...all the while he painted our garage floor @ the new house...plus I want the inside painted...(I doubt the rooms inside will be painted by Sat...lol) The owner of our new home, moved out, gave us the keys and said have fun....real nice lady...very trusting to...I mean, with all the hands in the pot waiting for their monies anything can happen, but we figure we're out a painted floor on the garage if something bad happens...our Title company has stated the worse case is closing tomorrow...

We do have a minor glitch in the system.  The management company, has had our application for over 3 weeks, and has not processed it yet....lovely eh?  I gave them a piece of my mind on Friday...not a pleasant way to start living in our community I'm afraid, but I was sooooo angry. The reason for them not to process our application????  The person went out of town on vacation....I guess there is only 1 person in this office that processes applications, when I was told no..."We have other people"....well, that's when I blew a fuse....CALGON CALLING!!!! LOL

On to happier thoughts...

"collegeboys" visit was a great surprise....he's much thinner than I would like, but he was happy to be away from the day to day stresses.  Right now he is living, breathing, tasting, and all consuming FOOTBALL...really different in college we told him, but he must experience these things on his own....

My "boys"  the STEELERS pittsburgh-steelers

won their game this weekend... YIPPY!!!

I'm going to have to start jinxing those rotten Ravens, and turkey Titans soon......sorry Joyce!...lol

Everyone have a pleasant day...see ya!

It is not the size of a man but the size of his heart that matters.

Evander Holyfield 1962 -

We must take "collegeboy" back today, we will be leaving in a lil while, the drive will be 3 1/2 hrs, to meet up with his friend so they can go back to college....:(.....

but, winter break is right around the corner.... :)

A brief reminder today, our "boys" STEELERS take on the Bengals.

Although Cincinnati's record is poor, we are playing a division game, on their turf.  It's always tough preparing an away game, but I have the faith in my "boys".....

"Collegeboys" team is running 6-1, looking good with 3 games left...I believe we will be heading to some conference games.....

and always.....

SURPRISE!!!!

random 011

GUESS WHO CAME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND SURPRISED ME......THAT'S RIGHT...'COLLEGEBOY'...YIPPY...HE DROVE 12 HRS, JUST TO BE WITH HIS 'MA'...AKA ME ON MY B-DAY...AINT HE SWEET!!!!!

FALL BREAK...FELL ON MY B-DAY...COURSE HE BROUGHT PRESENTS....(LAUNDRY)...LOL

WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE..WHAT A WEEKEND...PLUS WE SIGN OF THE HOUSE MONDAY.!!

TELL YOU MORE LATER....HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND ALL!

GoodEVENING-2

Lil this & that.....

Well, not much to report on the home front today...I'm afraid  life down here in paradise is a lil boring...I wake up, pack, go to work, come home, sleep, and repeat...I seriously need a mani/pedi.. hair is getting a too long emmm' let's see what else could I possibly gripe about next????? lol

Oh, I know...our store has set up Christmas stuff...Can you believe it?? We've got ghouls, goblins, mixed with turkeys, pilgrims, Christmas trees, Santa, Charlie Brown...ackkkk!  Plus, tractor mowers, bbq's, and faux fireplaces...jeeze-a-loo!!!

Ok..retail, but hey at least wait for Halloween to be over, my goodness sakes alive...really!

The real beauty of all this is I'm either in "Returns" or "Customer Service", so I have the privilege of listening to all the bells and whistles play their "spooky/merry" tunes my entire shift....Yippy!! LOL , throw in a few angry customers, and I'm just peachy to get along with....LOL...oh, the sacrifice I have made for "collegeboys" education....

I'm grateful for a wonderful management staff, they lighten the atmosphere...for example:  I needed a "loader" to assist a customer, I was on the phone, so I couldn't page, I saw our store manager, I waved him over to the customer service desk, and requested that would he please page William (then I got interrupted with my phone call, I was not able to finish my sentence) the next thing you know, the managers voice comes on the overhead speaker

......WILLIAM......WILLIAM....

WILLIAM... I start busting at the seams...he's being ornery.... I told him thanks for the assistance...he said "no problem"..then left.

It's kind of them to break up the routine...it's a wonderful distraction....

Well, back to the same old routine....everyone have a great day!

Official site of the STEELERS

I thought I would let everyone know, that our "boys" aka STEELERS had a bye this weekend....We sure needed the rest, we're a little battered, and bruised, but we shall persevere ....

pittsburgh-steelers

On today's agenda...very busy day at work ....We had a full house ...Joe Public came out to play and purchase.  They kept us on our toes...securing "collegeboys" tuition payment  for another month...

whew!  LOL

I believe some "snow birds" were in our mix...fixin' up their closed condos...airy out the dust mites from the A/C vents.. getting an early start to their "season"....why  you ask???..cuz about every other drivers license I had to verify today was not from FL....not scientific but a pretty good hunch......

I don't mind the "part-timers" as some of my fellow Floridians do, but then again, I haven't been here that long to know any better....What I mind most is the rudeness in people..."full-timer" or "part-timer" it's  a shame that they think they are owed something....My time is a precious to me as yours...I am relevant we are all human after all, but some feel the need  say as if they put their pants on different from me....the only way I know how is one leg at a time...God blessing me to have 2 functioning legs is a gift....it can be taken away in a instant....but, some people just don't understand that theory...

Maybe it's the way my parents raised us, maybe it's my insight to the life of the special needs, or watching 1st hand my friends whose spouses are serving their country over seas...or maybe its just pretty dang simple..I like being "common"....it means I have sense!!!!!  And you can quote me on that!  LOL!

Nite all!

Sunday Sayings

One could say that in case of need, every normal and healthy woman is able to hold a position. And there is no profession which cannot be practiced by a woman.

The nation... doesn't simply need what we have. It needs what we are.

The limitless loving devotion to God, and the gift God makes of Himself to you, are the highest elevation of which the heart is capable; it is the highest degree of prayer. The souls that have reached this point are truly the heart of the Church.

IT'S FRIDAY...

I want to stop and smell the roses today, but alas none to smell here in SWFL...maybe a hibiscus ...lol

Well, I have no idea where the time goes during the day...I still have loads to pack, I swear these closets, drawers, rooms, shelves are re-loading themselves...I pack a few boxes, then bammo, I turn around there's more to load in another box...I did not unpack everything from our initial move!!!

Someone is playing tricks on me...lol

I need to go to Tenn...I hear there's a 10 mile garage sale...I've got to get rid of the stuff....lol

Somehow???

All I was trying to do is copy & paste a part of my journal from j'land to windows, and it posted here....

Don't ask me how, cuz I have no clue...its here some of it anyway...let's move on...  cant keep on going back & forth...jeez this gets more use than my vacuum cleaner....lol

Speaking of which...I have to go...still packing, organizing, selecting paint, & you know those bills don't pay themselves.... I try to update y'all tonight....

How the heck did we pulled that off????...What a game, I tell ya...I had enough of the 1st half, just repeating last week with the Eagles...shaking my head, wishing I could be on the sidelines smackin'em upside theirs..I guess they knew how I and 30 million other STEELERS fans felt...What a game eh?  Thanks for you well wishes!!!

OK, on to todays news....the new house passed it's inspection, which we knew it should,  it's only 2 years old...We do have to have some work done on the tile roof, seems as tho some pieces are wobbly...and with the wind around here during hurricanes, you can't have wobbly pieces of tile...I'll probably send the "hubby" up with some mortar mix...or someone...not sure if "hubby" wants to do that...I spent the morning traipsing about with color swatches, my "assistant" (sister) helping along the way....We opted for a warm pallet.  When you enter the home, you'll be greeted with a nice Carmel in the living/dining area, followed by a sand (just a hint of green) in the kitchen/family area, the hall leading to the master will be in sage, the built in office in the kitchen  will be a burnt red (brick), the "boys" bath denim blue, "hubby's" office honeysuckle beige...now to work of the bedrooms..and master bath...oh boy....if only I could be Samantha of Bewitched, twinkle my nose, have it all done with decorations to boot.

It's another gray cloudy sky today..expected rains..we are cooler.  This is our 3rd day in a row.. might let up tomorrow.

More packin'  just a lil at a time, think I'll tackle the laundry room!

Good morning all...I feel something, it's ....it's different...what on earth...Is this gauge right?..(tapping on my computer screen)...be right back....

OMG, it's true...it is correct..the temperature outside is only 69 degrees..in SWFL...could it be Autumn has arrived???  I think I'll shut the air off, put on a pair of sweats, open up the house and enjoy it for the next 2 hours, then, I'll close everything up again....LOL

I don't remember  fall last year...I have never shut the air conditioning off.  I was told that in "season",  a time of enjoyment in SWFL, that being said...last year was my 1st "season", so I just remember it was slightly cooler than summer...by 1 or 2 degrees...LOL

Sylvester doesnt know what to think, I have the lanai and bedroom doors open....he's confused as to which to enter...usually everything is closed tightly, he's begging to come in from the heat.

Well, today is another round of packing...I purchased tape, markers yesterday...I'm ready to tackle the project ahead...all systems point to go ...we scheduled a home inspection on Monday..."hubby" and I are frustrated at our hesitations...we should be really enjoying thismoment, and instead we are discussing plans B or C in case it still falls thru...Our anxiety will subside...

ok, got to get after the project...then get ready for work after that...enjoy your day everyone

We have a "pending" sign on our home via our realtors web site! We might actually have a chance of getting this home....we have never had a "pending" sign before....Oh, the little things in life that make us happy....LOL...on to "collegeboy", the Doc reported no surgery for now....(Yippy) on his shoulder.  Just lots of PT, the MRI wasn't conclusive that any ligaments had been torn.  Collegeboy just knows he is in pain, and wants a solution.  Doc says he'll revisit the issue after a couple weeks of PT...the Doc says surgery maybe necessary in the future...so we're not completely off the hook, but hopefully it will get better.   I think "collegeboy" wanted surgery, just to have me visit...he is going thru home sickness currently, which is very sweet...but I know it won't last...(drats!)  Once his shoulder feels better he won't be needed us so much, just the pocketbook...LOL

I had a busy day yesterday at the Customer Service desk...5 people (contractors)  came up at the same time, all for pick up later orders...which means I have to find someone in the department to go to the back and find said item (s)....3 of the guys thought they could intimidate me by bullying, telling me they were in  a hurry...what is taking sooo long...I informed all of them at this point I was only 1 person, vs 6, they we're all being serviced currently with the various departments looking for their products, and when their products arrived we would all know.  This made a couple quiet down, but one man thought he should have the last word, which was "Well, how much longer, I have a busy schedule... My reply....Did you not hear what I just said??? When your product arrives up front we'll know, until then have some patience we are getting your products!!!!  Then 2 other contractors told him, hey buddy she has already sent a search party out for all of our stuff....easy up man, you're being serviced...At this point I just had to smile..you know, my favorite Disney Snow White smile....LOL

Everlasting Disney’s Snow White ...

After the rush, I found out my store manager(SM) was hiding in the little room behind me...well, when he came out I knew he had just witnessed my "Selective" handling of the customers,so there was going be some "constructive" management coming my way....(SM)His reply, wow I didn't know you could handle six customers at the same time....keep up the good work!  Are you kidding me I just told the one guy...DID YOU NOT HEAR WHAT I JUST SAID...and you're  not going to "remind" me that I should be a little more polite????  Why I just didnt say thank you is beyond me.....but...

(SM)  Clearly, the customer did not hear you the first time, you were just reiterating the fact that he was being serviced......LOL

ok then....thats what I thought....LOL

Have a great day all!

On to the "collegeboys" team, they won this weekend, bringing their standings to 2 -1.... great for their division....WAY TO GO PATRIOTS!

To keep the heart unwrinkled, to be hopeful, kindly, cheerful, reverent that is to triumph over old age. Amos Bronson Alcott 1779 - 1888

I love all these wonderful pictures of fall (Autumn)...I'm in everyday is summer, (which is wonderful too) but it's nice to see the seasons and use my imagination as to the changes occurring.   My goal for today is to pack several boxes...now is the time to downsize our home decor, since we have been renting I didn't unpack alot of stuff anyway, it shouldn't take very long....will just live with the blah until we move.  What's nice is I'll be able to decorate for Thanksgiving & Christmas at our new home....(yippy)  the offices (mine & hubby's) are going to be the last to go!....

Second on the agenda is........da da da.....NFL SUNDAY BABY!

I'll be watching my STEELERS kick the Eagles feathers!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOUR TEAMS!  CEPT' THE EAGLES! (sorry Missie Missie's Upside Down World) I know your family is a fan of the Eagles...good luck on the walk today!

Enjoy your day everyone

I received a few questions about how could we possibly go from Colorado to Florida...so here's our journey...  Long, long ago far, far away.....yadda, yadda, yadda....I'm a native of Colorado...the Springs to be exact.  In my opinion there is no other place on earth more beautiful than Colorado.  It will take your breath away...Katharine Lee Bates, wrote America the Beautiful inspired from the view of Pikes Peak.

http://www.pikespeakcolorado.com/AmericaTheBeautiful.htm

Katharine Lee Bates

The most visited mountain in North America and the second most visited mountain in the world behind Japan's Mount Fuji, Pikes Peak forms a stunning backdrop for Colorado Springs and the Garden of the Gods. At an altitude of 14,110 feet above sea level, Pikes Peak is the 31st highest peak out of 54 Colorado peaks. It is the farthest east of the big peaks in the Rocky Mountain chain, which contributed to its early fame among explorers, pioneers and immigrants and made it the symbol of the 1859 Gold Rush to Colorado with the slogan, "Pikes Peak or Bust". The 8.9 mile Cog Railway started operating year round in 2007 weather permitting.

I met, married hubby in Colorado Springs, raised our family.  We were content there...Then around, 1999 a little medical issue interrupted our lives...RA....I never suspected my aches and pains were abnormal...I just thought I worked too hard, or this just comes with growing older..then I had a flare, in my hand.  I truly thought I broke my finger...the swelling was unbelievable.  I went to the doctor, for pain relievers cuz the Tylenol was not cutting it..thus the diagnosis...from 1999 to 2007, is a time medically I would love to forget...

When we vacationed in Florida, I felt better, my aches were minimal, hubby loved it...he always hated the cold, but thought I would never move...one day we were discussing the very issue, it really was a "dare"...he stated that he could transfer with his company, but why would he..I'll never leave...my reply...I dare ya!

Our home sold with 6 wks of listing it, everything fell into place.

God was taking us on a journey...I was happy to oblige him.

The rest is history...one week after our youngest high school graduation, we were on the road to the Sunshine State..

Colorado will forever be a place I call home...family and friends still there...I miss them something awful, but medically my body loves Florida.

House #2

Friday, September 19, 2008, 8:39:28 PM | cdj0423Go to full article

Ok...this might be it....I would hate to jinx us, but what the heck.... I'm throwing caution into the wind....our offer has been accepted on house #2...YIPPY!!!!!  Of course, I would love our #1 pick dream home to come thru, but this home we like as well...it has a lake view from the lanai...ya can't beat that.....I'll keep my fingers crossed, until we actually sign closing papers, & ready to move....anything can happen.....I use to say that, and not generally mean it, but with what we have gone through to purchase a home these last 8 months, I truly mean....anything can happen.  I can not wait to celebrate!

I went to my new RA doctor today, he seemed more interested in our moving from Colorado to Florida, than my arthritis at first, I guess I was a little taken back....I've always had someone just talk medical stuff, instead of personal matters....it was nice...he later moved to the business at hand....gave me a flu shot, wrote a new script...and off I went....., my RA is alot better in Florida, than Colorado....I wish there was a way to have a mixture of both...I guess that's why California is so populated....LOL

Guess I'll check on the hubby...see whats going on....

bye folks!

Well, today is no different than yesterday here in the Sunshine State...partly cloudy, rain later this afternoon into the evening, expected high around 94.....let's not talk humidity...just know it's there.

Sharing some recent pics of Sylvester...this one he was caught playing a lil b-ball game in the "collegeboys" bedroom...he was just running around with that ball...it was sooo funny...

these pics are of him asleep in the kitty condo....he does not care about being "oversized" for the house...

Bentley is back to "hunting" the lizard on our window....he just won't give up....this morning he knocked over the lamp trying to capture his prey....I keep reminding him that the lizard is "outside" and we are "inside" but alas....lol

Tomorrow is "collegeboys" MRI...we'll hear the news by next Tuesday (fingers crossed) we know he'll have surgery, just the extent of damage????  I have no idea, how fast the doc will want to move on scheduling the surgery..."collegeboy" has reported that 2 other kids had there MRI,  within a week after surgery was preformed...doesn't give me much time to run up there I'm afraid...but, we'll see...

ya'll have a great day!

Chocolate mug cake....

Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 9:46:13 AM | cdj0423Go to full article

I got this recipe from a good buddy of mine (thx Sue), thought I would pass it along.  You might have seen this before....I know I did sometime over the summer, but...anywhooo enjoy!

MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG  CAKE
1 Coffee Mug (large mug)
4 tablespoons flour(that's plain flour, not self-rising)
4  tablespoons sugar
2  tablespoons baking cocoa
1  egg
3  tablespoons milk
3  tablespoons oil
3  tablespoons chocolate chips  (optional)

     some nuts (optional)
Small splash of vanilla
Add dry  ingredients to mug, and mix well .  Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in  the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and  vanilla, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3  minutes on high. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be  alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve  2 if you want to share!)

And why is this the most dangerous  cake recipe in the world?  Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from  chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

A little boring last night at work, the bad part about working at night is, you have all the college age or teens working...They are fun at times, but other nights I just want to wring their necks....most of them call me Mama C...ok fine, not your mama but what cha goin' do...One kid last night thought it would be funny to come up from behind me and scare me.......he was sent to his room (aka department) without any dinner....I also informed him, that if he dared tried that again, management would not treat him kindly.....I think he got the message!

Since we have had some much rain here...the frogs are popping up all over..

On the drive home, I kept seeing the little white specks hopping towards the light....poor lil guys...first they're trying to save themselves from their grasslands flooding, then BAM an SUV smashes them...Oh...which reminds me,...very sad story.....at work a mama duck, and her six ducklings tried to cross a major road last night....mama didnt make it...we had 3 store managers outside saving the babies...we got them to the garden department...found out one of our workers lives in a rural area, so he took the babies home..darn that mom, she had a great home in front of Walmart why she wanted Lowes?  Poor thing, she probably got confused...

Ok, time to start my day....wish I ended on a happier note....

ya'll take care!

Collegeboys team won this weekend too...woohoo!

Our season is off to a good start.  I hope your team(s) did well too, but lets be honest here, I only want the  STEELERS to go to the Super Bowl...and win! ...lol

Another busy work week ahead for me...I had a customer the other night call me rude and mean....I couldn't believe it!

I was checking her out, she had a piece of tile, it didn't have the scanning sticker on it, so I phoned the department, meanwhile, she indicated it was ONLY, 99 cents...I informed her I needed the product # to key it in...about that time I found it on the side of the tile stamped in ink from the factory...so I hung up, punched the number in,  it rang up for 77 cents, which I had informed her...I said..." Oh, this is 77 cents...good buy!  that's when she called me mean and rude,  that the other stores are never this mean or rude...I said, without a beat, cuz I forgot I was working.....What????......That was mean?...ok, then...here's your receipt have a great evening (disney voice towards the end)...the customers directly behind her said...." Cindi, I have no idea where she got that you were mean or rude"....then they proceeded in a loooong conversation on What I should have said, What I wish I could say, What needed to be said....etc...., which was able to uplift my spirits..  Maybe she understood my GOOD BUY....AS GOOD BYE!  Who knows, awwww the joys of retail....lol

Another bbb-beautiful day in SWFL...I think I go say hello to it, before I have to work tonight....Enjoy your day all!

After hearing the news this morning that Ike is still pounding the shores of Texas a cute picture is needed.  I pray for the safety of the animals too.

Below you can see the "kids", they are all  hunting a lizard that's outside the window.  Soon after I took this picture, Mercedes told the "boys" to back off.  She started growling, hissing...I guess she's a "fierce" hunter...

For about 3 days after this photo, Bentley would stare at this window, looking for a lizard to appear.  When he found one outside on the lanai, he stopped his search....whew!  He is a funny cat, still has to play "fetch" everyday, he will nip at your heel if you're not paying attention to "his" needs...

"Collegeboy" football team has a home game today, we'll be able to listen via Internet...GO PATRIOTS!

Hubby's out playing a round of golf this morning.

I get to catch up on "cleaning duties"...ug!....we did have pizza last night, so I had better put a game plan together for this evenings meal. emmm??? either bbq or crock pot.. I'll probably try another beaded necklace after I get my "chores" done....better get of this blasted thing... hugs all!

1st crochet necklace

Friday, September 12, 2008, 9:31:11 PM | cdj0423Go to full article

Well, what do you think??  I was feeling a little ambitious today, so I made this glass beaded necklace.

You generally use 20g wire, but I didn't want to wrap it around my fingers, so I elected to use a nylon string material.  It lays real nice too....I have enough material for 2 more necklaces.  I think I might be making a few more...it's fun something different.

Any hoo..just wanted to share, now I need to get into that dang kitchen, got to put some grub on the table...I have no idea what I'm making....it could be a good night for pizza??  Plus, I got a new box of Calgon just waiting for me to open up....can't wait!

snagged from http://journals.aol.com/jjdolfin9/my-extremely-simple-life/   (Joyce)

The outer bands of rain have arrived from Ike, making our day gloomy, wet, just plain ol' icky outside.  I haven't watched the weather report this morning, but last night they mentioned Corpus Cristi TX....all of you in the Texas area take great care...we'll be sending our prayers for safety and minimal damage...

"Collegeboy" called last night, I'm afraid with some bad news...the team doctor wants to "repair" his shoulder, meaning surgery....he goes in for MRA & scan tomorrow, to get a thorough look..and.......we are over 800 miles away!!!!!  All I could say last night was who, what?,,,what?...  who?..

"frettin" about ain't going to get me nowheres.......CALGON we help!...I'm fillin' up the tub right now

Thats about all I have to report this morning.

On to a new subject....our eldest has a dentist appt today...talk about a challenge!  3 days ago, he came out of his bathroom with a bottle of Crest mouthwash, informing me that "This is the only dentist he needs"...ugh!  I think I'll call ahead, so they can have the sedation needle ready....I'm going to need it!...LOL

He's not only this way with dentist...it's pretty much all doctors..I've scheduled the day off, one stress at a time for me folks.  I'm sure when he awakes this morning, I will be "informed" again, and again, and again.. about why it isn't necessary for him to go, what is wrong with the dentist (whom he has never met), why don't they have a real job like a football player...yes all of these quotes have been made in the last few days.....the adventures of the "special needs"...hey that's a good book title!  I had better copy write it....After today's appt, I'm thinking a beer and CALGON are going to be necessary, cuz today is only the evaluation appt, we have to schedule cleaning next......ugh!

1st Care pkg

Friday, September 05, 2008, 9:53:23 AM | cdj0423Go to full article

Yesterday was the best day for the beach, it might be a lil while before I return.....Hanna is affecting our "Sunshine" state today...overcast, gray skies are today's outcome...All eyes in Florida are focused on Ike....Something, I'm not looking forward too.  I know, it gets old for those not in our state, believe me I have been there...We moved here just over a year ago.  Our local & state governments are very aware of the weather occurrences, they prepare you well in advance.

The newer homes are required to withstand certain category storms, insurance companies reward those who have shutters, tiled roofs.  Old and & new, the majority of the buildings, commercial & residential are concrete block builds...these guys know what they are up against...it's the responsibility of the public to adhere...

Enough, of that on to happier talk....

I'm mailing our 1st "care pkg" to "collegboy" today...Hubby made cookies, I bought the junk food...picked some sea shells @ the beach, and of course enclosed in the "encouraging" card will have a lil cash-o-la!  We had better be "rewarded" with great grades..LOL, actually a phone call is the best!   He called the other day, needing an iron, but didn't want to spend "his" money at the local Walmart...funny eh?  Anyway, I got online, bought the iron....when he's ready he can pick it up at his local Walmart.  Don't cha' love online shopping!!!!!!

Well, I'm off got to run to the Post office!!!

The beach was b-beautiful.......

We went to the "seashell beach today"...you can see why I call it that.  The water was cooler, so our fall is arriving.  Due to the tropical storms of late, the Gulf's (pictured)  water color is a deeper blue ..we usually have a teal greenish tint to it, our local river runs from the Gulf to Lake Okeechobee which is in the center part of our state.  This Lake has caused the different coloring to the Gulf...fresh water, mud...etc..  If you were interested.

Anyway, the temperature this morning 85+.  I only spent 2 hrs, relaxing in the sun, tossing the football to our eldest, and stepping our toes into the water....awww Heaven!

Now I'm going to get off this blasted computer, sit my butt on the couch, find a movie...eat some popcorn, drink a diet coke and call it a day!

Our eldest said "Fred" is saying good morning mom.....

(too funny) so everyone meet Fred...(must be Wilma, Barney, and Betty in the back)....LOL

Collections.....

Wednesday, September 03, 2008, 9:39:57 AM | cdj0423Go to full article

The collection has begun....these are a few that I have received since living in SWFL...I do not wish for anymore!!  I also have 2 Christmas ornaments...I'm certain "hubby" doesn't like this collection..lol..I would rather collect these, than "Gators"...!

These are all gifts I have received....Collections are dangerous, once you mention something, people will flood you with the item, which isn't a bad thing, it's just I love so many different things.  I really have a deep love for Steeple Church's...Just picturing them on the rolling back country hills...awe blissfulness...Lions are another, strong powerful respected..although they will eat anything in their path, not a lot of people seem to dislike them...Like sharks, strange eh?...I have a passion for Noah's ark, different Salt & Pepper shakers too, teapots, all of these various items I have lil bits around our home.

I would love to know some of your favorite collections...post them on your journals...it will be great to see them....

Just another day....

Not much happening on the home front today...Changed our flag outside...living with one season year around, it's nice to set reminders....LOL

Hubby trimmed the hedge this weekend, thus the "droppings" in the back ground..

I closed last night, boy we sure were busy ....I worked the customer service desk...I tell ya, there are all kinds of crazy's out there...people are not afraid to ask for every discount in the world,...  It never occurred to me as a consumer, to negotiate, swindle, con...more of a discount on my items purchased...but evidently it happens all the time...the icing on the cake tho was the guy at closing.

Our doors were locked, he had already made his purchase, we were ready to escort him out, when....BAM! he scurries off, yelling...Oops I forgot something....40 minutes folks.....40 minutes after closing.....40 minutes later......he decides that he was done...

I still had my closing paperwork to do, register...etc.. oh well...what cha' going to do?  I'm sure we'll have others...

I'm curious tho...

A wealthy old Gentleman decides to go on a
hunting safari in Africa , taking his faithful, elderly Jack Russell Terrier named Killer along for the company.

One day the old Jack Russell starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.

The old Jack Russell thinks, 'Oh, oh! I'm in deep doo-doo now!' Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap, the old Jack Russell exclaims loudly, 'Boy, that was one delicious leopard! I wonder if there are any more around here?'

Hearing this, the young leopard halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him, and he slinks away into the trees. 'Whew!', says the leopard, 'That was close! That old Jack Russell nearly had me!'

Happy Little Monkey Swinging On Vines In A Rainforest

Meanwhile, a monkey, who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard.

So, off he goes, but the old Jack Russell sees him heading after the leopard with great speed and figures that something must be up.

The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans, and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard. The young leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, 'Here, monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!'

Now, the old Jack Russell sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back and thinks, 'What am I going to do now?'
Instead of running, however, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old Jack Russell says...

'Where's that monkey? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another leopard!'

Hello?? Hello? Hello?

Now we have to pay attention to Gustav!!!  Fay has left so much water around here we just cant afford any more...I know, no one else wants this storm to come near them...I pray everyone heeds the warnings...

"Collegeboy"  woke me up this morning...1st he calls the home number, that caused my blissful slumber to come to an end...I grabbed the phone the same time the fax beeping went off (not a pleasant way to clear the cobwebs..then, my cell phone went off... I leap out of bed to try a find the darn thing...I can hear it, but my eyes are crusted over..my feet didn't cooperate, by the time I find it, he had hung up...then he called his brothers cell phone, bro answer arousing his slumber...this in a span of 2 minutes.. when he handed the call to me, "collegeboy" wanted information regarding financial aid package..

I was barely able to articulate a hello good morning, physically my body thinks it's still in the bedroom, now he wants me to use my brain, regarding a finance, before I pee or have a cup of coffee????

Cleaning...again!

Monday, August 25, 2008, 12:26:06 PM | cdj0423Go to full article

I awoke this morning on a mission....I had to rid ourselves of this clutter...why I ask you do we (I) accumulate so much paper crap-o-la??  Jeepers!

I started to cleanse and rearrange...when hubby started to break out into a cold sweat...he hates...I mean just loathes the idea of throwing something away...cuz he just might need it ...who knows...someday this "gadget" might be useful,  or hey, this scrap a paper has some number or it....if I could remember what the number is for I might need it, so I had better keep all of the other 5 millions scraps of paper...

Well, my cleansing lasted 10 minutes at best...I was only able to clear my desk, cuz "hubby" really was starting to hyperventilate...He needed to leave for work, but wanted to make sure I was not going to throw any vital information out...he promised tonight when I'm at work that the "cleaning" shall be done... I have had those promises before...we'll just take the wait & see approach.

"Collegeboy" is adjusting...thankfully.  We on the other hand need to be sedated daily...LOL  Our eldest is taking the separation the best, hubby & I thought he would have the toughest time adjusting.

Well, I suppose I should saddle up the broom and start after those pesky dust bunnies...You'll have a great day!

We've got sunshine!!!!  Eureka!...I can open my eyes....although it might be around briefly.....Fay is a stubborn guest that just won't leave FL alone!!!!  How rude!  She has visited the whole state, brought moisture from the Gulf and Atlantic coasts...we are defiantly ready for her departure!

The hubby's in the yard trying to catch up on the jungle...funny how a "lil" rain will make things grow!!  The "kids" are all on the lanai watching this strange occurrence  blinking their lil bitty eyes from the brightness...

many staring felines

I'm trying to get ahead of the game..I have a day off today...and I'm not going to do chores ...I repeat NOT GOING TO CLEAN, DO LAUNDRY....well maybe a lil....BUT I'M GOING TO ENJOY TODAY SOMEHOW!

I haven't figured out today's plans, but I will find something fun to do!

We still haven't found a house.....very sick...sick...sick....I mean sick about this....I think I'm up against the Lord on this one...every time I find a home, evenif it's a Short sale, foreclosure, just a normal listing home, we have had some paper glitch in the system, and the home is not really for sale, or not listed properly...anyway all events have fallen through...  I guess he doesn't want us to buy a home here is SWFL..or rather I haven't been listening to what I'm suppose to be doing.... We have never gone through a mess like this...our agent will remember us forever....Right now, I'm just shaking my head trying to figure out what to do next...I have downsized, dreamt big, different neighborhoods...even our own...the only thing we haven't done, is asked our landlord if she wants to sell us this home....we know what she would like as a price, she wants toooooo much for it...she like so many others bought in 2005...they can't recoop that investment for a while... so here we are blessed to have a roof over our heads....I'm truely....truely blessed..we'll find a home to purchase...sometime, don't know where or when...but I know we will.....

Have a great day all!

Fay said Hello...

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 1:54:35 PM | cdj0423Go to full article

Fay said hello today...I'm grateful that she had little impact on my life, but I'm sorry and sending my prayers for those families who lost someone as her result.

She came across this morning around 5 am... has finally left us as I write...we experienced some trees down in the "hood"...our location is clearly away for any Gulf flood zone...thankfully...our lights "flickered" occasionally, but we never lost power...our community however was effected by a population of 4000+ home without power for a few hours...south in Everglade City and Marco Island the impact is greater...30,000+ without power....minimal flooding ( 8" of water on the coast is minimal) I think she even missed the "high" tide effect as well......

I just wanted to give a brief update...

                         Nature does nothing uselessly.
                                                                           Aristotle

The reason for todays quote summed up in one word "FAY".

Hello again gang...we're back...we moved "collegeboy" into his new living quarters for this year.    I'll spend time later going thru our days leading up to "letting go"...... for now we are safe, home and preparing for FAY....

I'm not sure I agree with Aristotle on this quote...I believe this storm is useless(ly), cuz..emotionally, physically, and any other ly I can conjure up...I just don't have the strength to take her on right now, but  we will or rather we HAVE TO since she's coming directly at us for the moment...hopefully she stays as a tropical storm then will have no worries...we will have buckets I mean barrels of rain to contend with tho....

Got to run....got loads of stuff to catch up on..

take care all!

We hit the trail today!  I'm confident we will be on the road, heading north....sometime.....today....(I hope)...fingers crossed.

I know hubby is going to be on a mission to get us up there & back in "record" time, but I'm willing to convince him to stop, smell the roses approach might be better ( at least for me)

Our eldest is running through a mix of emotions, having his brother leave, being "stuck" with his parents...not much fun for him I'm afraid, but we will try to make the best out of it!  If it was "collegeboy" having to be stuck with his parents as an only child..he would relish the lifestyle!!!

Pose' I should be packin' our bags...ready ourselves for dat dare dusty trail...Ya'll keep us in your thoughts and prayers, cuz I'ma frettin a lil dare fillies & fellas......LOL

Bye ya'll

It's getting easier..

Tuesday, August 12, 2008, 9:38:36 AM | cdj0423Go to full article

Well, "collegeboy" is sure making it easier for us to move him into his dorm!!!

Sunday afternoon as I was leaving work, I called him to see what the plans were.....he didn't answer his phone, so I figured he was "working out" or whatever....anywhooo...about an hour later he calls back, tells me he's hanging out with a group of friends wanting to spent their time together before he leaves....nice!, Oh and by the way we've been muddin' that's why I didn't answer my phone, ANDDDDDDDD the Jeep got stuck in some really deep mud, we had a tough time getting her out, but we did...it just lost a little radiator fluid...cuz, I guess it got a clogged up somehow..blah, blah, blah....but we got it out...it'll be alright.... WHEW!

Now, my thought process on this went...how "wonderful" that his friends wanted to share their time together, tooo..

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME...GRRRR

I wasn't sure how bad the Jeep could be, so I decided to take the wait a see approach...wrong!!!!!

He arrived home (thankfully) after a few stops along the way...(the radiator had lost a lil fluid remember)   He awoke his brother in the middle of the night to assist in the process of "pushing" the vehicle the last few blocks from home.......(no comment!)  Excuse me, while I take a little time to re coop.........

(Jepordy theme here...)

Ahem, ok I'm better now I'll continue....

I had to work early yesterday morning, so when I opened the garage saw the Jeep home (note, I didn't know they had "helped" her home) I was relieved!

I was running late so I'll insert similar pic (not our own) to give you an idea of the "flith"...its a pretty close comparison tho!

muddy jeep

The hubby stopped by my work, to tell me how the Jeep arrived home, and the lengths its going to take to "clean" her inside and out.....yes folks...inside & out....

Collegeboy spent several hours yesterday with the power washer.  We "re"supplied her with radiator fluid (seeing how she lost a little) filters...etc....whatever else cuz...we leave this week for KY and college"boy" needs a vehicle and.....

I DO NOT WANT TO SPEND ANYMORE MONEY!!!!!!!!

now you know why he's making it easier to move him......

I got "burned" today by our eldest....his needs may be special, but his sarcasm is not..... He is like his father....very, very competitive,  and win at any cost, but his wit is all mine.....after teasing one another at dinner, he decided he should have the final say and I quote...."Mom, I burned you like a gas grill"....

I ask ya, how do you respond to that??????

Todays Agenda

Wednesday, August 06, 2008, 10:21:46 AM | cdj0423Go to full article

Today's weather is......um lets see ..... can anyone take a guess????

On today's agenda we have....cleaning, bill paying, cookie making, and a lil time in the sun...pretty easy day.  Love to reLAX  on my days off of work.  Speaking of which, everyone should know by now I work for a large retail "do it yourself" not HD company....

We got zapped by lightning the other day...here's the scenario, I'm working outside in the garden, watching this storm approach  for about an hour or so.  Once I could hear the thunder I decided it was time to call the department gurus to close the gates to let me go inside....Well, they proceed to tell me I have to wait for thunder and lightning...as if on cue  CRACK! BOOM!, I say close enough????  You do not carry enough insurance if I get injured, so I'm leaving, you can close the gates when you feel like it, then I hang up the phone...

I start towards the door, when the Operations Manager comes outside to greet me, holding a set of keys....LO & behold???  He says ...I hear you want to go inside??? (with humor, we have a great management staff), I said, about time what took soooooo long...He says, he thinks the storm is still 10 to 15 minutes away, but since I "ASKED" so politely he'll close the gates.  I informed him that if he wished to watch the storm for the next 10 to 15 minutes go right ahead, I will be inside keeping my butt safe!  The big coward decides to walk inside with me, not 2 seconds after we have entered the building.....CRACK BOOM BOOM...lights flicker....then out they go...we got hit!  I looked at him, then looked at my "pretend" watch on my wrist, and say 10 to 15?

Now, here was the fun part...our computer system is plugged into the electric outlets throughout the store...I mention this because, when you get struck by lightning and the lights go out...so does your computer systems....after the flickering about a minute or so, everything regenerated...although we had power to everything, it doesn't mean they are working properly...again, folks sorry but I must state these simple rules....anyway, we have a plan in place for such occurrences.  If you are struck by lightning, and the computers have to reboot, if the  customer wants to continue their purchase, we must hand write each ticket.  You want me to repeat the last sentence for you?  Ok, you get the point...some folks here did not.

As the management is passing out the folders, calculators, assembling associates as (runners) they have a very important job, they find each item for the customer write down the item # with price, return it to the cashier so we may HAND WRITE the sale.  This took about 2- 3 minutes..max

Now I ask you as a customer....if you were in a store that just got struck by lightning, How important is it for you to purchase your 2 wicker hanging baskets and bug spray??  Because my 1st customer evidently thought this  purchase was very much a priority and asked????

ARE THE COMPUTERS OUT??? BECAUSE I HAVE TO PURCHASE THESE, NOW WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO??? HOW ARE YOU GOING TO FIX IT!!!!!!!

I'm not kidding folks..

In my best Disney voice, I reply.  I'm sorry, but we did get struck by lightning thus causing our systems to be effected.  I will HAND WRITE, your purchase if you wish to proceed.....

ANGRY CUSTOMER(AC)  WELL, HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE??? I NEED TO GET HOME YOU KNOW, MY HUSBAND IS EXPECTING ME...

Disney Voice(DV).....Are you going to make a purchase with us today?

(AC) AM I GOING TO GET A DISCOUNT???

(DV) Do you have a coupon????

So that is how my Monday at work went, (AC) didn't have a coupon, and I didn't give her a discount....

lets think about this....If I had the ability to "fix" being struck by lightning....

DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD BE A CASHIER @ LOWES???

We're  in the middle of planning our "road" trip...boo hoo. :(  I hate all these emotions I'm dealing with...it's soooo cool for him to be leaving, attending school, meeting new people, seeing different things, but...rats...where did the time go eh?

This & that

Wednesday, July 30, 2008, 10:20:05 AM | cdj0423Go to full article

Well, we certainly have been busy with the home plans...back & forth.. pre-approves, taxes, 2nd mortgages, buying a short sale home is a headache.....I do not recommend this for the faint hearted.  The upside is the investment with the deals to be had in a buyers market....At this point I'm not certain if we even have the home...ugh!

The work front has kept my mind occupied to say the least...I have been on a close schedule for a while, which is ok I am able to sleep in, but the "boys" have to fend for themselves at dinner time.  I have used the "crock" a couple of times and as I sit here I'm currently thinking what do I have to put into it for tonight's dinner....hum????  I think spaghetti is on the menu for tonight!

I can have a nice green tossed salad, along with garlic bread...that should make them happy...ok that's done.

Our days are being numbered with the amount to time left with the college boy....It's making my heart sink just to think about him leaving.  We have pretty much "covered" all the basic needs.  I'm sure we'll have to get one or two items once we move him in to his dorm.

Freckled Blond Boy Wearing A Hat And Holding A Baseball Bat While Playing

Speaking of college boy, I guess he had a great night last Friday, playing softball for the church.  It was the final game...he asked us to come, then we reminded him every time "we" attend a game something happens and he doesn't play well, so we would love to watch, or we can stay home, of course he recants and tells us to stay put...with that said, he comes home with the heroic tale of  tie game, bases loaded, 2 outs, he's up to bat has a 3-2 pitch and.......yes he hits a double to bring in the winning run....errr!  Most of our videos are of him playing football are, not getting the pass, or dropping the ball, or getting an injury, then when we are not around, the catches the winning ball or in this case wins for the softball team..  He should be successful at college, because we will not be able to attend the majority of his games....LOL

Have a great day all.....

We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.
                                                                                    Jesse Owens
                                                                                      1913 - 1980

This was the most fitting quote for me today.....We have received news that our #1 favorite home, if we could possibly even get this dream home, that life is sooooo sweet we love this home,  offer has been accepted....

The search is over, 2 years of Internet, 4 months of hearing nothing from the bank, over....We are tentatively scheduled to close Aug 21...YIPPY!!!

Here's the scenario.  We had scheduled 3 - 4 homes to look at in this newer development.  The first 2 were rather depressing, number 3 was a great home, 2 story, 3 car garage, pool, 4 bd, 3 bath...beautiful...but not perfect.  I didn't want to live in a two story.  I knew I would have issues with laundry downstairs,  my arthritis moving everyday up & down, up & down...blah, blah...but yet it was a beautiful home, and with the market in our favor could I possibly "live" with those aches & pains, and use this as an investment opportunity?  Now, here is where God comes in to play...this is great.....When we were discussing those very issues, we were traveling around the "hood", trying to find our last scheduled home, when our realtor took a wrong turn.  She decided to pull into the nearest driveway to turn around when I said...I wish we could find a ranch, with a 3 car that would fit in our budget....

(this is where you will hear music from above...you know the AWWWWW being sung in a soprano key by a choir of angel)

...because, low and behold the very house was right here in front of us, we were in the driveway....We all looked at one another, without missing a beat our faithful realtor calls the listing agents phone number, we wait a half a second.....then we were given the permission to enter the property.   This is a never lived in, built in 2006 brand spanking new 4 bd, 3 bath, 3 car ranch home.

There are still a couple of pieces to the puzzle that need to be put together.  So when we are at the closing table, we have signed all the 500 sheets of paper, is when we will call this our home, until then you will all have to wait for the pics...but for now we are livin' the "dream"!

I don't know if he'll use it...I might just have to bring it back...bought a laundry basket too just in case....

I have to search for lamp, waste basket, coffee pot, mugs, glassware, microwave plates, all that are in this home somewhere??? I bought sheets, mattress cover, last week...we have enough towels to supply an army he can grab those, along with hangers ...I still need to purchase, paper & ink cartridges for his printer, he has all the necessities for computer, except I have to find surge protectors......CALGON!!!!!

I scheduled an appointment @ 4 today to get my nails done...Hubby wants to meet at Realtors office @ 3, he thru that in a couple of minutes ago.....after my nails, we have to go to Verizon to get new phones for the boys...both have key pad issues....dinner sometime after that... CALGON!!!

Dont even ask about the housework around here... I had to do a quick run thru the other day before work...got the laundry done too...did I mention I have lost 17 pounds, hubby has lost 22...I have 10 more for my goal weight and you all know thats going to take forever!!!!!  I was going to do my 30 minute workout this morning but was lagging behind my fixed scheduled....LOL

I can always make an excuse to miss workouts!!! LOL  Maybe before bed tonight so I dont feel too guilty.....time for me to go on a seek and find mission before the realtor!!!

I have been so busy lately...I could just spit!  My desk looks like a pile of junk...folders, bills, camera, pens...I should just take a pic of it, but I'm too embarrassed to share with everyone.  Maybe tomorrow.. I finally get to go into work late, so I will have time to catch up on "housework" you know the drill..., laundry, cleaning,  paying bills, never mind the checkbook, which was to be balanced 16 days ago...whew dog!

Then you folks...I have to catch up on the college visit...You people in the south are warm and hospitable...I loved KY. I think that college boy made a great choice!  ( Y'all from the south do not find this amazing, but us other folk might, or at least I did LOL.....)  They have porches!!! with rocking chairs on em!  And they sit in their rockin' chairs to watch the world go by!!!  They had rockin' chairs in the Knoxville airport, just to watch the planes, in the restrooms for moms to nurse their babies....The only time I have seen rockin' chairs are the ones for sale at Cracker Barrel...LOL  I know, I know I'm a nut, but to relax in a chair and do nothing, wow how nice that would be!

Well, I'm off to catch up with the family, (my own) been so busy I have no idea what they are up too....I'll give y'all the 411 on the college visit  tomorrow...  thats if I get my chores done 1st!
