Arrange whatever pieces come your way. Virginia Woolf  1882 - 1941

Every man is a damn fool for at least five minutes every day; wisdom consists in not exceeding the limit.                                      Elbert Hubbard 1859 - 1915

Trifling Minutiae ....

Idaho - Fishing while on the back of an elephant is strictly prohibited.

Massachusetts - It is illegal to park your donkey in a bath tub.

Holla!...sending the love

Thank you!!!!!   all for your prayers...again...what an awesome feeling to have a prayer circle around the globe....

Hubby is "reorganizing", we certainly did NOT expect the outcome that hit us yesterday...but we can not dwell....we are in survival mode now...We're not sure of our future monetarily speaking, but as someone once quoted...Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead!

It warms my heart...here I started my little blog about nothing, just wanting an outlet to write about my family, experiences, etc, maybe I could learn to post pictures???  lol

I was and still am amazed at the graphics from some of the people on their blogs.  I had to continue, just to see if I could copy/paste as the best of them...I learned rather quickly I can not...but, bloggers were willing to "share" their knowledge allowing me the opportunity to "snag" from them.  How wonderful!

Now, I have found you are willing to pray for me....God is amazing...I "thought" I was learning about copy/paste, "snag", or "tag" ... ironic..it has turned into a global bible study, friendships with  & "follow"ships

Thank you!

Hit by the economy...

Hubby just found out...they let him go today...ouch!

Didn't see that coming...more later...stressful times ahead. OMgoodness...

Vehicle problems...

Trifling Minutiae

California - Make sure and take down your Christmas lights before February 2, or you could be in for a nasty fine.

Connecticut - In Devon, Connecticut, it is illegal to walk backwards after sunset.

Here at the mornings watering hole, I have awaken refreshed....yesterday was a normal work day, until after my shift I go the the (I didn't realize I stuttered when I typed..lol) parking lot, get in "cboys" Jeep...(he took my SUV back...cuz of the enormous amount of junk that must be returned in 6 wks)...

anyhoo...click click click....nothing...not a peep...now, being to higher intellectual that I am....I retry, click, click, click...again...after the 3rd attempt I resolved the fact the battery MAY be dead.....lol Most probably would have knew this particular circumstance sooner.

I must now go into Sergeant Mom mode..."Eldest" is with his "hangout" group only his 3rd day ...I was to pick him up in 10 minutes...I call my sis instruct her to pick up "Eldest", after I gave a briefing....

I love the fact that you may count on family for immediate action to any given task. Good/bad...dont matter...or at least I have been able to count on mine....

back to Sergeant Mom: Sis is on her task to extract "Eldest"....retrieval underway....

I then call the troops...Code Name: Hubby...He evaluates situation, understands his responsibility. Departs from current mission, expected ETA 35 minutes....

NOW...I must ( I wasn't required, I felt I had to) call C-boy, as nice, lovely, upstanding Private that he may be...during his current leave...he failed not once, twice to refill Sergeant Moms vehicle with fuel, after he was granted permission off the base.. Now, Sergeant Mom, must deal with a dead battery in his vehicle......C-boy knows he can charm the bullies out of his Sergeant, thus being said I attempted to hold strong...

I failed my mission. (rotten Private)... He got out of his court martial, as soon as he accessed the dire situation, he response...I love you....(rotten, underhand....sneaky)..lol

Hubby arrives, attempts made on dead Jeep..assessment, come back later with new parts, re-attempt...bring Sergeant to safe house (aka Sis home)....

all ended well...now to tackle the remainder of today....

A buzz of activity......

Ok, 1st C-boy arrived safely.....thank you all for your travel prayers, they're received warmly...I was grateful to be working most of his trip...

Today is cloudy with rain showers, not something we are use to seeing this season..I have to clean & all the other stuff that goes along with it...blah blah blah....

The "kids" are excited about the change in weather, Sylvester is bouncing off walls, trying to get the other two included in his version of a fun game.  Bentley is following with his shoelace in his mouth,  readying for "fetch" after the wall bouncing.  Mercedes is completely clueless, she is occupied with the empty water bowl on the lanai, she moves it around with her paw.  She does this until I pour more water, she'll stop, give me a sour look, then walk away....I like most of you thought this behavior was a reminder to replace the water, until I found out that she attempts to move it full, thus having a empty water bowl regularly....I think when it's empty she feels great power & achievement that she can move the bowl, when full, she's confused as to where her strength has gone....like I said "clueless".....

The watering hole is a buzz with activity, an Egret is looking for breakfast, the turtles are popping their heads up in the middle of the lake...a Hawk is circling around, some sort of chickadee is calling for a "girlfriend"..and a Wood Pecker is trying to get the ants off of a neighbors lanai, making a racket when he pecks away on the aluminum...crazy I know...where's my video camera????  All this BEFORE my first cup of java.....ok...time for me to break out the PineSol, Tide, and everything else that goes with cleaning....have a wonderful day all!

Sunday Sayings....

My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can.          Cary Grant 1904 - 1986

Christians are supposed not merely to endure change, nor even to profit by it, but to cause it.  Harry Emerson Fosdick 1878 - 1969

Trifling minutiae.....

In Cleveland, Ohio it is illegal to catch mice without a hunting license.

A goldfish has a memory span of about 3 seconds.

Mosquitoes have 47 teeth.

I enjoy reading different things...these useless facts certainly made me giggle this am...I need a giggle, "c-boy" going back...prayers for travel safety please....

I have to head into work, so that will be useful for me...his trip will be nearly complete by the time my shift is over..another 6 wks & he'll return for the summer....

I was able to get in a little sun yesterday, I went over to the "community" pool...it was restful for about 10 minutes, then a mother started to set up a b-day pool party for her easily excited 9 year old, with 8 friends....after about an hour of listening to screaming kids...I couldn't relax...I headed back to the local watering hole I call home...I'm not sure why this had bothered me normally I can tune people out, but not yesterday...Donovan was told by his mom about every other second to stop this or that, Donovan don't, Donovan stop, Donovan, Donovan, Donovan

I wanted to give the mom  a glass of wine, and tell her to let the kids play, but alas it was only 11:30...too early in the am....ok, I have to say my farewells to "cboy"...

Strange....but true...

At five minutes and six seconds after 4 AM on the 8th of July this year, the time and date will be
04:05:06 07/08/09.
This will never happen again

A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out.

No word in the English language rhymes with month.

The sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" uses every letter of the alphabet.

Most lipstick contains fish scales.

Like fingerprints, everyone's tongue print is different.

Your stomach has to produce a new layer of mucus every two weeks, otherwise it will digest itself.

I had to either clean my desk or...surfing the web....guess what...lol

I came upon these fun trivia facts...I think I'll add to Sunday Sayings...for now I find it enjoyable...

Our house is a buzz with NCAA college hoops...(I could care less)...I have never really cared for the game, although I know they have a large fan base..."Eldest" played all thru his middle & high school years with Special Olympics..I wont even comment on our Presidents blunder last night on Leno...the main reason...too easy, the other ...why bother..

Anyhoo..tomorrow is our last day to enjoy cboy...my my my how the week has flown right by us..he'll be back in 6 wks that is all remaining for the year...amazing..I was just taking to kindergarten yesterday...lol

We had an enjoyable day, the rest of his time spent with buddies...he kept promising, but others would call...we told him its ok...have the fun...at times he didnt seem sure, he is a good guy...

Eldest played a lot of games with his younger brother, tomorrow the "boys" are golfing, while I bask in the sun...as many times as I mention it... I should be roasted tan by now, but alas nothing...I only get about an hour then the clouds come, or its too cool...or I start to sweat, or lol...

time for me to clean, & do cboy laundry...remember..

fishing fer.......Gator!!!...

I promised pics.....this boy is going to drive his mother insane...no animal (human or otherwise) was hurt during their adventure..I have translated the "Gators" version for you all....here is what they were saying...

....come closer you idiot.....

ok..I'll take your bait...wait until I reel you in with my friends....

let's get ready to grab em' boys....

ok here we come....humans, they're so gullible...delicious too I hear....

ok, my pretty you might have gotten away from me this time, but I have survived the ice age...I am patient you'll be back like the fool you are....then....

I compare this "adventure" to going into the woods hunting for black bear, with about 20 bear around sitting waiting for you to throw a berry at them....or a lions den...no bars, or chain fences to protect you....the difference being this...they will attack, but also bears, lions have a brain much larger than the size of a walnut. Gators....not so much thankfully....this is why you may "stroll" along the banks...(at your own risk) oh...they'll keep an eye on you... a Mama will chase you down if she has a nest....

but I have to ask the question, WHY would anyone fish Gators?...c-boy still hasn't given me a good, reasonable, understanding answer......

CALGON!!!!!!!!

Top O' Mornin'..ye lads & lassies!

What a beautiful day at the local watering hole...

The weather man indicated we might....might get some rain today...meaning the clouds will come, & lets see if anything happens...lol

Cboy went camping with his buddies the other night, in the everglades...eeeh gad!  The next morn' they decided to look for gators....yep they found em'...(as soon as I can I'll download the pics)...I'm glad I heard about this after he arrived home in one piece.....BOYS!  Reminder: Get more Loreal Golden Brown hair color....even tho I applied some last week, I know by the time Cboy leaves I'll have more gray to cover....lol

ok...time to go shopping...

Enjoy St Patrick's Day!

Sunday Sayings...

Love is the opener as well as closer of eyes. George Macdonald  1824 - 1905

God is acting on your soul all the time, whether you have spiritual sensations or not.          Evelyn Underhill  1875 - 1941

Saturday while I was working hubby & the "boys" planted new flowers, bushes and placed a fresh layer of red cedar mulch down in the front yard...ahhh Spring is in the air for everyone, even us lucky ones in SWFL....

I did my part later in the day....I washed the windows inside & out!!!!   I suspect while our "northern" friends are preparing to opening their windows & clean out the dust bunnies, we are preparing to shut everything tight to make provisions for the A/C...which reminds me I had better get some filters....lol

Thanks for all the prayers regarding c-boys travel...he made it home safely.  He has gained some weight back, which he needed after losing a few pounds from his shoulder surgery.

Enjoy Your Sunday!

This & that...them too!

So, here's Sylvester hanging around...silly!...he was sound asleep in the pic...snoozing away..

this was the activity at the "local" watering hole a couple of days ago...can you see the dude hanging out in the reeds??

this is as close as they would allow.

this was before his buddies left..like our Adirondack chairs."hubby" arranged them when he mowed...I have them back to normal now...viewing the lake.

here's the "gang"....the guy with his wings spread is swallowing a bass...the two behind him were trying to take it away...

the birds that are in the water I call them the loon guys...I need to investigate further tho, I'm not sure of their species, I need to purchase a book..they are interesting to watch swimming underwater eating whatever, then "bob" around, stretch their wings to dry off before flying away......

Beautiful day here in SWFL...I was able to enjoy a book, & soak up some rays.."chatted"  with some buddies online, HOLLA!..then I ran to the grocery store,  to stock up, cuz C-boy informed me after football meeting today he's on the road home...he'll be here in the am..prayers for his safety, grrrr drives me nuts...but he likes driving at night  into earlier am...ok kids...got to get the gravy on...or at least find out what I'm going to make for dinner (supper)..

Turtle alert....

So the streets are starting to re-fill again...you know Spring Break is here...1st the stragglers for baseball, now the coeds...omgoodness....it normally takes 15 minutes to arrive at work...now I have to plan 30... if I have the baseball fans 45...ouch! I really need to get their schedule so I can plan accordingly...Our weather is getting back to norm, just in time for our vacationers...yippy...today should be 85 or so, low humidity too...

Not much to report on the home from "C-boy" coming back this weekend...very glad to be seeing him....I have already planned one night with friends & family to have dinner over here...so I know I will see him at least for 1 day...whew! His cousin asked what was the occasion, and c-boy said ahh,..."I dont know"....I wasn't about to tell them I just wanted 1 day of his time off, so if it takes bribing everyone to have dinner here...well, I'll just do it! lol

Our lake is getting low, we certainly could use some rain around these parts...A huge turtle was sunning him/herself the other day...It was at least 24+ inches wide....now I know I don't want to have my toes soaking in the lake for sure...it was on the other side, so my camera could not pick up the size well enough, sorry no pic...but if it decides to come on my turf....not sure I'll be brave enough to "snap" a shot....lol

ENJOY your day!

Sunday Sayings......

If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.                                             Pauline "Popo" Friedman                                  a.k.a.  Dear Abby  1918 -

Nobody gets to live life backward. Look ahead, that is where your future lies.                              Ester "Eppie" Friedman                                 a.k.a   Ann Landers 1918 - 2002

I love these girls...I find myself only occasionally reading dear Abby, today...although "Popo" no longer writes the reins of wisdom have been passed along to her daughter Jeanne...

Long, long ago when I read this item in Dear Abby..our wedding was going to take place very soon..and being the worry wort that I am (another story altogether)...the jitters were getting the best of me...when I got to.."Love is a friendship that has caught fire."...I knew our commitment was for a lifetime.... enjoy!....thx "Popo"!

Infatuation is fleeting desire - one set of glands calling to another.
It is marked by a feeling of insecurity. You are excited and eager but not genuinely happy.
There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about the relationship that you would just as soon not examine too closely.
It might spoil the dream.
Love is a friendship that has caught fire.
It takes root and grows, one day at a time. Love is quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection.
It is real. It gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved.
You are warmed by his presence, even when he is away.
Miles do not separate you.
You have so many wonderful films in your head that you keep replaying.
But near or far, you know he is yours, and you can wait.
Infatuation says, We must get married right away. I can't risk losing him;
Love says, Be patient. Don't panic. Plan your future with confidence.
Infatuation has an element of sexual excitement. Whenever you are together, you hope it will end in intimacy.
Love is not based on sex. It is the maturation of friendship that makes sex so much sweeter.
You must be friends before you can be lovers.
Infatuation lacks confidence. When he is away, you wonder if he's being unfaithful. Sometimes, you check.
Love means trust. You are calm, secure, and un-threatened.
He feels your trust, and it makes him even more trustworthy.
Infatuation might lead you to do things you will regret, but love never steers you in the wrong direction.
Love is elevating. It lifts you up. It makes you look up. It makes you better than you were before.
- printed in Dear Abby

Spring forward....again....

Today the watering hole is calm. Our "guests"...(local water fowl) must be eating their breakfast at the next hole, not a single bird in sight....hum, did I miss the posting, that they would meet elsewhere?

Are you ready to "Spring" forward tonight?? Setting our clocks ahead is rough....I hate the thought of "losing" time, but I can't control everything, although at times I try..lol.....I'm grateful that I will have Sunday off. I will be able to sleep like normal... I missed last Sunday Sayings, my fan base (2) didn't mention the fact I had not posted...lol

I wonder if Ben (Franklin) knew how much power he had creating this idea... I mean to control time for eons...amazing.....I'm just thankful to have an extra day to rest...

Breast Cancer awareness Award

I would like to send out my congratulations to Regina she made this wonderful award for Breast Cancer Awareness.....

Please stop by and give her a visit...

I've elected her to start off sending this award around in support of our family, friends, or love ones. We want to let them know we care!

Regina, please elect 5 people to pass this beautiful award around!!!!

Hum, must be the harmonies, again?

Ok, so the last few days I have been off kilter, out-of-whack, not really myself...blah even...I didn't post a Sunday Saying...my favorite thing to do...I thought  well, just having the blues kind of day...after day, after day....I cant even blame it on Mr Winter, cuz it's summer year around here!

So, here is what I think....being a girl sucks!

Especially a girl losing her harmonies...my stash is thicker, I'm constantly tweezing, and the other day I notice my arms flapped!   The "girls" are low riders, I'm thinking of purchasing a 2x4 for support....

I have Spandex my derriere attempting to hold it in its proper place..no luck... Chocolate is my only friend at the moment I have also invited Mr Potato chip over for a visit.

I need to purchase more Clarol #6G lite brown, the gray is daring me now.  I past attempting to hide it, I have moved on to "blending", now I have to move towards acceptance.......arrrr.....

"C-boy" turned 20 last week, my baby is grown...I cant take the pressure anymore! lol

CALGON!!!!!!!! My best friend ever!...I use lukewarm water, b-cuz the sweats take over....lol

I'm sure I'll get it all together, in a week or two, after my harmonies abate...the rapid sessions I tend to dislike...no, that's not true...I dislike all of it!
