Sip your coffee, while I blog about the humorous day to day happenings with my family, cats, or me crocheting, going to the beach, sharing recipes, books, last but not least enjoying the love of COFFEE...
Where o where has my lil blog gone....
Sandcastles.....

the beach is having their annual Sand Castle event this weekend. The above pic is last years winner. The sculptures really are remarkable. We're debating on going...traffic, people, arrgg, not really sure....Oh dear the woes.....lol
Happy as a clam...
Going....NORTH....yep
We had an excellent trip visiting Cboi..it was his last home game for the season. HUGE moment, huge...give me a moment as I find a tissue box...
Ok...I'm back (lol) Oh, the steps in life we must take...
I love the people from the south, such warm, friendly folk. Their respective accents or drawls, are so harmonious to listen... In GA they called us baaaaby...so sweet. I asked to refill my drink...Dat's alright baaaby, you go right ahead.... In TN, when I went to grab a cookie in the hotel lobby...we were told, That's ok hon... KY we were asked, How youns doin? Honestly, "they" had no idea how flippin cute they all are...lol
First of all, the fall colors thru GA, TN, KY were spectacular!!!! God makes the most beautiful paintings!!
The reds, oranges, yellows, mixed with various greens, browns, brilliant blue skies...takes you're breath away, all my "friends" north...Ya'll are lucky folk..
this first pic is a hay roll we found outside W-mart, just made me giggle...too cute
next we have Cumberland falls, it was terribly rainy, cold, but that didnt stop us warm weathered idiots, from experiencing it.... a couple of men, were prepping their kayaks for a fun trip down the river...NUTZ if you ask me, the high temp that day was 43...
beautiful colors above the falls...can not say enough...
I fell in love with the barn, & house. This was located in the city were Cboi attends college. They have the best view in town..the second pic is a cat...He was keeping a eye out for us....I imagined him saying..HOOMANS, look out....(he's the lil black dot..)
Here is my sis & Eldest tail-gaiting before the game!
this was so cute, the band dressed in various Halloween costumes. This girl was Wilma Flintstone, I didn't know her, but thought her costume was the best!
Since it was Cboi's homecoming game, it was also Alumni weekend, along with it being Senior day. We were the escorts for our (Oi, another tissue here) SENIOR aaaahhhh....ok, ok I'm fine really....sniff sniff...as they announced the SENIORS (sigh) on the team, they came out of the locker room, ran thru a tunnel formed by their teammates, then approached their escorts, we were to hug, arrange for a formal pic....here Cboi is approaching us...
Eldest has latched on for a hug..so cute...
here we are all together...now I must confess, I was told about this day, thus our reason for the visit.. so like the good shopper that I am, I found and purchase 2 outfits just to be safe...that being said, the "hoody" I'm wearing was NOT any of those outfits..I was to be "matching" my boys...I have a very cute mid cut, tux ruffle, maroon sweater, that would look ADORABLE for this shot. I have no idea, where my brain was that day....Oi vei! on to the next pic...
Here is Eldest waiting for his brother to appear after the arse whoopin we gave to the opposing team...55 to zip!!! Nice...
Here we are with Cboi's girlfriend Lil Bit...aint she the cutest....love her!!! Hate that "hoody"...grrrr lol
It was a long drive, but honey pack your bags...I want to go back.....lol
Maybe??? It's time....
Sunday Sayings....
It's so hard when I have to, and so easy when I want to.
Annie Gottlier
move over Mercedes...
Eldest challenged me to a game of Wii dance, so fun, but woowee I'm out of shape! He beat me in Wii Mario cart too...I need to find a movie or a book, I'm exhausted....
Sunday Sayings......& GO STEELERS!
A cheerful heart is a good medicine. Proverbs 17:22
In the land of tropics the weather has been.....WET, with a likely chance of humidity, sunshine here & there, but mainly it will be HOT, HUMID, and RAINY. We have not had the opportunity to turn off the A/C, probably wont until Jan...The storms have been torrential downpours due to the activity in the Atlantic Ocean, still beats a hurricane any day of the week tho...
Work has been...aaah steady, which is a good thing with our economy. I'm very grateful to have a job, but have found some people at work are just blah...I really have a tough time with people whom dont share my work ethic. I mean, I am getting paid to "work"....Oi! to each his own I guess...
Onto the home front...I went to our local grocers website, earlier this week, read their ad, found they had an abundance of buy one get one free's (BOGO) so, I started selecting items here/there, put a list together, it was so convenient. On the printout it list's the aisle #, price, plus a little box to check when you've got your items... I know, that grocers have done this sort of thing for a long time, but I just never felt the need to take advantage on their services. I'll still go to the store put the items in the cart myself, rather than have someone else do it, but it was nice to look at the ad, click, save, print...Working is retail, I have less & less the desire to "shop" at any store.
I still have no desire to "reopen" my fb acct. I was experiencing "virtual" overload I suspect...lol I guess, I'm just wanting some independence. I know I can reopen it at any time, but for now I can get some "me" time...lol It sounds silly to deactivate it, but knowing myself, I would stay on it, and not break away...ie...."Wishing for my turn".........

Thirteen years...
I dont want their pity or words, I want my sister back, but I know I can not have her. Some years have been ok, apparently this year is not, it's difficult to console my parents, it's difficult to see other siblings not as emotional as I. I dont need therapy, GRIEF is what it is...She was killed in a car accident, an accident that took a 7 year or child too. That accident changed the whole dynamic of my family. It has separated us, not brought us together.
Debby was 39 years old when is died, 39 forever, what every woman says....We were to meet at our parents house, she was traveling separately from me, my friend & our kids. We were traveling to visit our parents in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It was one of the most beautiful days, the Aspen trees were at their peak of golden color. I use to love fall, I still do, but it's not the same. I witness my parents dropping to their knees in grief, hearing the loss of their child. I was suddenly thrown into the 'adult' world. Debby's daughter was in the car, survived, barely, she was in ICU at a hospital located 2 hours away from where my parents lived. I had to drive my parents to the hospital that day, my mother in the front seat next to me rubbing her belly, "wishing" her baby was still with her, my father in the back, calling everyone he knew, repeating the words, she's gone, she's gone....
Yep, some years are better than others....
I miss ya Deb....(hugs)
Home remedies....& sunshine!!!!!!
Anyway, I have learned to make household products, cure plantar warts, lessen the life of a stye on your eyelid. I swear blueberries are the remedy to lessen the pain of my RA. I eat them constantly, after I read the benefits of the fruit! Did you know that a banana peel will heal a plantar warts?? I make my own Fabreze, instead of purchasing it...(the secret: It's diluted fabric softener with a pinch of baking soda) Also, 1 cap full of bleach to 1 gallon of water, a drop of liquid dish soap is your every day disinfectant. In today's economy it pays to make your own products...heck, in any economy...
I'm going to soak up sum sun today, watch a lil football.. Cboi's team will be playing an away game. We will be able to listen to it via computer radio...so fun the announcers make it very exciting! Cant wait to go to a game & tailgate this year....counting down the days... have the weekend off, so tomorrow I'm making hubby take me to the beach again before football, just a hour....or two...:0)
Lazy day...felt good....
Pine Is, St James City & Matlacha.....
It felt so good to get out!!!! For the pass few weeks it has been extremely wet, thus not allowing me to enjoy our great SWFL area. Especially on my days off....grr
Today we went to ST James City...across the waters from Sanibel Is...the weather was perfect! As soon as we dipped our toes in the warm Gulf waters we notice a couple of dolphin bobbin up/down either playing or eating, then a pelican dove into the water, to pick his/her lunch, the whole sight was very enjoyable. A HUGE yacht passed by, the thing was bigger than a house, OMgoodness, sure wish I was a passenger on that ride...WOWZA. Close to the dolphins a large sail boat was anchored, looked like a pirate ship..arrr, mateys!!!, lol... I didnt think to take pics, just wanted to enjoy the day....we might go back on Sunday, there is a mom/pop restaurant we enjoy, they make the best fried chicken..(Sunday's special) keeping my fingers crossed the weather holds out & we can go again.. We stopped by a cute lil gift shop. Inside stuff packed full of local artist paintings, crafty handmade jewelry, knick knacky things, our "greeter" was a male tabby, by the name of Hector, so adorable, thru a pass thru you find The Great Licks Ice cream Parlor, yummy homemade ice cream. They give amble samplings of their different flavors..I got a half scoop fresh strawberry, half scoop chocolate...HEAVEN! "Eldest" got fresh coconut/key lime, yum! Oh, I want to go back and get another scoop....lol
The temps are cooling...slightly, the days are passing by, and the sun is not rising as early in the morn. Fall is upon us..Yeah!!! Tho, in the land of summer year around, very little is changed...less humidity is a good thing...we will be traveling north to visit Cboi sometime in Oct...so happy about that, and we will able to see the fall foliage, I'll have to pack a heavy jacket...anything below 60, and I'm freezing my arse off....lol
Morning Joe....

came swooping down, he likes following the Gator, cuz the Gator would cause the fish to swim towards the lakes bank, thus bringing dinner to the Heron. Such a prehistoric sight. I wish I could capture it on film, but these creatures are so elusive. It makes you appreciate the hours of film producers go thru to get one shot of something to show on a television program.
C-boi is settled in, back at college. Senior year, he spent the entire summer away, gosh it has been hard. We are making plans to visit sometime in Oct. It can not come soon enough for me. When he graduates I pray he finds work closer to us. Fingers crossed!
A croaking what????? You don't say....
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.....
Oi.... with that said, now I may begin....
Our "little" pet...aka backyard Gator, was removed last weekend. Seems, he/she was a bit more aggressive than should have been, and he/she wasn't so little, 6'2...ggeeesh! A few other locals reported said "critter" to the state gaming commission, they dispatched a Gator dude, and well, that was that.......With the "critter" gone, the watering hole has sprung back to life. My heart aches a bit for the "critter", tho I think it was for the best, with the kids, & animals roaming the hood, glad he/she had not harmed anyone...
Speaking of animals, now the "hood" is experiencing a Pit Bull & Doberman running about loose...I love dogs, but any animal I'm afraid of if I don't know them personally. Seem the "locals" are up in arms about these two pesky beast, they stopped by my lanai the other afternoon, guess they smelled the litter boxes, thought they would investigate...I must say they seem a little scary, but soon were running after one another, then jumping in the water. I'm thinking they are 2 mischievous puppies causing some trouble for their owner.....
The other day at work, during lunch we were talking about various subjects, someone brought up, that the difference between the sexes...He said, that a woman's index finger and their ring finger are not the same length. That the a woman's ring finger is always smaller, and that a man's ring finger and index finger are the same length....(how many of you are physically checking this right now?) So everyone was comparing this theory, When I spoke out loud, "hey...I can tell hubby I found out I was a girl today....The room roared with laughter...I blinked a few times, and thought did I really say that out loud....Oi!
Well, hum?
Awoke a few days ago to another beautiful day, gosh the lake looks wonderful......What?....hum? Let me zoom in....
eeek!
"he/she" decided to get a closer look to.....eeek....
So I got to wondering, does anyone else wake up with a Gator in their back yards???? Well, Hum?
P.s....he/she was their again 2 minutes ago....eeek!
Wildlife update.....

BIG BIG SHOUT FOR GMA TURNING 101 ON JULY 4TH
LOVE YA GMA!!!!
The rainy season is here...Every afternoon we get a ton of water. No complaints here.. our lake is filling up nicely. The turtles are poking their heads up, fish a flipping, they had to be stuck in the mud there for a bit, the lake was getting a tad low. but I'll take the rain over a hurricane any day!
The Muskogee ducks are back visiting us again....They know I throw crackers to them, the other night they came up to the lanai hollering at hubby for their crackers. Hubby hollered back, she's not here to give you crackers, they looked at him for a second, turned around and flew away...lol The Mallard ducks want nothing to do with us. About a week ago, mom had to scoot 5 of her babies, across the lawn into the lake, she sure kept a close eye me, I offered crackers, but she thought lady you're crackers..lol
Since hubby's back home, no snakes to wrangle...THANK YOU JESUS! AMEN. Not sure I'll get the gumption to walk out on the grass barefoot again, knowing those critters are around. At the very least I'll slap on a pair of combat boots!
Cboi is enjoying his summer away from us. He's working non stop tho....during the week he works at his University, and on the weekends he's the "Sample" guy at the grocery store. He's going to be a senior this year, unbelievable...my how time fly's. He participated with the 1st orientation this year, he was giggling to himself, remembering how wide eyed, and nervous he had been on his orientation day. I certainly remember how scared I was that day.....He knows his childhood journey is over, and he is ready to begin a new chapter. We are blessed for sure!

Snake wrangler.....
"Bug bites " and rain......
Sunday Sayings....
Lil chatter....
C-boi is talking about grad programs, Eldest is talking non stop about sports, hubby chattering away about work....I need CALGON...lol
Miss Mercedes loves to cuddle in the morning...That's the only time she will cuddle. I think my coffee has something to do with it...She sticks her lil nose my cup, sniffs, purrs, cuddles...The best part of waking up, is....lol
RA showed it's ugly head yesterday, I had to leave work mid schedule, my manager didn't take kindly to this, but I have grown use to "you don't seem sick" look...I can not prevent these flares from happening. I work constantly when I feel healthy, guilty conscience for when the episodes that occur I suppose, which usually goes into a OVER stressed compensation, thus bringing on the RA, tho it needs no extra inducing, I seem to help it along the way..Oi. When I was younger I use to have a stronger voice, in a since that I would speak up, defend myself, but as I age, I've mellowed, and feel no longer can I defend what is happening to me. I can't change it, prevent it, shy away from it...It will come, I now have to be mentally prepared to exist thru these flares. They are physically exhausting, extremely painful, and emotionally draining. Everyday I awake with an aching body. I say a quick thank you pray for allowing me to wake up, I stretch, get my muscles ready to take on the day. At night I pray again, thanking that the pain was tolerable. Blah I hate RA...
So on to totally lifting my spirits, and improving my mood. The sun is shining and the lounge chair is calling my name!

Sunday Sayings....

The wisdom of God lives within me.
This little dude made me jump when I went to reach for the hose....I'm not sure whose heart was beating faster...his or mine....lol
This is a closer look...he's probably thinking can't a lizard get a break around here.....Crazy lady....or You take one step closer human and I'll....RUN!....LOL
OMgoodness, has it been a while since I have been able to sit, write and share.....Just after Mothers day, Cboi went back to school, but this time he brought Eldest with him....Now they are both 800 some odd miles away from us.....Eldest is going to be "one of the guys" this summer....Cboi is such a great brother.....
This left Hubby & I to become "empty nesters" for 90 days or so we thought....
Fri before Memorial Day, we received a call from Cboi that Eldest had a problem with his eye. So I told him to take him to a eye doctor, to make a loooooong story short(er), this doctor said, he had some serious medical issues, that needed immediate attention. Hubby & I left work around 1pm, we were packed & on the road by 2:30 heading north 600 miles, we arranged to meet the "boys" in Macon. We arrived around 9:40pm got a hotel for the night, Cboi had to work the next day, but I convinced him to sleep, then leave early am, we slept a lil longer, then left after breakfast. Since it was Memorial weekend we could not get him to the doctors office until Tues, thus leaving us with a LOT of time to fret, worry, pray, pace, reason, pray, Oi! Tues comes along, the long anticipated moment has arrive....Is Eldest really going to lose his sight??? The verdict....NOPE....THANK YOU JESUS~ AMEN....We find out that he had some type of bacteria growing, (most likely acne related) what made it appear so awful was Eldest was literally trying to dig the thing out, instead rubbing his eye, he was aggravating and scratching his pupil....AGGGHHHH! I asked him didnt that hurt? He says, yeah, but I wanted it out!...Geesh! The doctor tells him, he didnt see any permit damage, but advised Eldest to NOT do that again,to stay on the eye drops, and to give him a call if he had anymore problems, he handed his card to him. Eldest replied, DEAL! then gave a hand shake to seal it.....
So...call us crazy, but since it went so well the 1st couple of weeks....(lol) We are returning Eldest to Cboi around Fathers day...what more could a parent ask for 1st Mothers day, now Fathers day...am I the only one that sees this as completely insane??? It's like, Hey celebrate Mothers/Fathers day have the children move out...get your freedom back, by the way we're only a phone call and 800 some odd miles away.... Oi!
