Uninvited guest...GATOR

This jr beast has made a happy abode near the dock.  I do NOT like this one bit.

anytime you toss your fishing line in, he/she comes scampering out looking for a feast.

we do NOT feed any beast in the canal.  It's NOT cute, adorable, or even remotely kind to do so.

There are plenty of bass in the waters for this lil dude/dudette to feast on. We have a plethora of waterfowl as well.  We had a family of 6 recently nesting near our dock as well.   Mom, dad and 4 chicks.  Now there are two, one adult and one chick.  Guess why we have uninvited guest sticking around???  So for now, we will coexist.  Until the food supply runs empty, or if he/she decides to come ashore...Then we WILL part company...lol

We had an enjoyable weekend.  Our neighbor grabbed us on Sat, gave us a ride on her pontoon.  This has to be our next big purchase.  What a fun ride on the lake.  She has lived here for 20 yrs, so she gave us the ins/outs of the place.  The water was like glass.  I have no pictures, cuz I totally forgot my camera.  (geesh, some kind of blogger eh?) lol  Lots of people enjoying their weekend.  She told me to stick out my thumb and I can hitch a ride with her whenever.  I'm not gonna lie, this WILL be happening...

I made brownies, covered them with vanilla frosting or do you call it icing?  Ive heard it both ways, I know the icing is made thinner, but I compare it to when people say either soda or pop...or even coke, and they like pepsi for a softdrink..another term...lol

Along with the brownies we grilled chicken, then I made perogies.

First you boil the perogies, drain place inside a grease dish.  Cover with cheddar cheese, layer bacon on top.  Bake 350 until cheese melts (5-10 minutes) better have chives, and sour cream on hand..  YUMMO!   A family favorite!

Life lessons....

I was going to blog about a humiliating, yet humbling experience I had yesterday.  I elected not to write it, because,
A) why post it for the WWW
B) why let it continually be a reminder
Ive decided to mark it as a lesson learned.  Letting go it part of the process of life.

Po-boi received business cards yesterday.  He was so tickled, handing them out right/left.  I will put mine in his photo album.  Im not a scrap book kinda gal.  Tho I luv the time, effort people put into making their scrapbooks.  I have no desire, crocheting is my craft of choice.  Here's a mason jar cozy I made recently.  Really helps absorb the condensation on the glass, now it wont slip out of my hands.

Hubby is settling in with his new job.  He's adjusting to work life again.  As with any new job, you like the excitement of learning new things in the beginning but, over time you grow bored.  I think he will enjoy the day to day changes.

Mom & Dad's sixty year anniversary is at the end of the month.  Us kids decided on a card campaign.  So we contacted all the family and friends asking them to mail an anniversary card.  They are starting to receive some of them early.  This has left them scratching their heads on how some of the cousins have remembered their anniversary.  It's been a blast hearing their stories.

Hubby & Po-boi worked on the dock.  They had to convert the lift from supporting a boat to a wave runner.   As soon as they were finished we ran down to my sisters house, grabbed her wave runner.  Now she has room in her garage, and we have a toy to play with whenever the mood strikes us.  I think we were the bigger winners...

We've been out of the lake several times now, so exciting..  Po boi took me out once, exploring only the canals. Thats about the only speed I can handle with my RA.  I thought about going to the lake, but no way, maybe on the neighbors pontoon.

Well Ive put off doing laundry long enough...lol

The royals....

Sanibel 2008

So much going on, but nothing to do.  Have you ever felt like that?? I did not sleep well last evening, awoke later than normal, and now after 2hrs want to go back to sleep.  Whew,  Im exhausted.  Just going to be one of those days I suppose.

Po-boi has been out of town all week.  Real man business suit stuff.   So proud of his achievements.  Anyway, he was at the Corp office, in downtown Tampa.  The company has put him in a nice hotel a block or two away.  He starts to tell us about his arrival,  how the valet comes running to his car, and the concierge telling the bellhop to come over to get his luggage.  Now Po-boi has stayed in plenty of hotels before, just not one of this caliber.  He starts wrestling for his luggage, but the bellhop is working hard for a tip, Po boi practically yanks the bellhops arm out of his socket to retrieve his luggage, the valet has already stolen his car, now this kid wants to take his clothes.  What's Po boi suppose to do????  He knew he had no cash in his pocket to tip these guys, and he was feeling pretty low about it, but he didn't want to look like a cheapskate either.  So, he's telling us his woes, when suddenly he changes his tune, and ...You want to know what else Ma?  They've got free bottles of water, and M&M's in  the lobby. lol  Real business man stuff....lol  He had me in stitches...

Stella stories continue.  This lil girl just wont give in to the pack of wolves (our other cats).  I have followed all the rules, on "how to" make her accepted into the herd, but she wants no part of it.  Cats really do as they wish. So, I have adjusted our living arrangements for her royal patooty... The herd is over her antics by now they've become bored.  Daily we bring her out of Po boi's room (comfort zone), while the others are asleep locked up else where.  She has no idea where they are at, trust issues...seriously.  Once she's out, she hissed & growls.  I imagine she's speaks in a tone similar to Meryl Streep, saying something like...

"Come out and fight me, you sad little, pathetic minions.  I assure her the pathetic LAZY minions are asleep elsewhere, but she insists.  "Why, on earth would I trust you?" You, feed those creepy,  vile losers, you are no better than them...hiss, growl......  I give her a look, she glares back.  I give her another look, but this time crossing my eyes at her.  She in turn, bats her eyes and replies in disgust.  Ugh, humans I loathe them....lol

Then the next minute I feed her a treat, and she snaps out of her mood, walks around like she owns the joint.  With all my other felines I have known I was their master.  Stella is no ones fool.  We're here to please her majesty, she reminds us daily of our proper place.   Honesty, I like that about her most, additionally it gives me something to blog about....

Yippee Yahoo!!

We have been going crazy around the household, but the good news is Hubby is working again.  Whew, that was close, so emotional.  Mostly Corp stuff.  The Grocery chain he will be working for just bought out another Corp, and they are going to be selling it to one of their subsidiaries, so it has definitely been an experience.  Glad its over, grateful for the employment for sure a blessing.  With the up/down situation it brought my RA into play, thus explaining my absence of late with blogging.  I think it will improve having hubby out of the home, I can get my routine back too.

So happy to celebrate a wonderful Mothers day with hubby & po-boi working again, but if they think they can get out of buying me a box of chocolates....lol  Actually, feeling a tremendous relief of the unknown fear, humbled to have the boys working.  My mothers gift came early, very happy.  Enjoy your Mother's Day all!
