Hubby feeling kind of itchy, on a whim decided...ROAD TRIP!!!  We found ourselves a few hours later in the beautiful city of ST Augustine Florida...the OLDEST city in the United States...you may click here to find more info St Augustine Fl

Yes, older than any other city...Founded in 1565, the history is rich...Pounce De Leon, fountain of Youth..Forts, battle fields, light house...a lot of action in this tiny Oasis...In the old part of down town, they have a "living" museum, where people are in costume, performing the daily routines...horse drawn carriage rides, Flagler College, once a ritzy hotel turned into a college campus...Ooh, lets not forget the "Ghost tours"...we didn't participate, but saw a lot of info on the stuff...many B & B's, but my love was the Beach... ooh & (AHHHHH shopping)....AHHHHH...

The first night we enjoyed dinner at a local beach hang out, had some great hamburgers, but the high light was 2 young men performing live...playing acoustic guitars...they we're wonderful...

The next morning we scrambled out of bed to enjoy the few minutes of the beach before the thunder boomer was to arrive...it was so awesome to see the storm circling around out in the Atlantic...the surf was up a bit, but the rain never came inward....

  2. Wow! Your Hubby has the right idea. Planned vacations are wonderful, but there is nothing quite like just picking up and going someplace, even if you don't know quite where you will end up. Looks like you had a wonderful time.
